An Instax Flip Book that Will Inspire You
My eldest son recently ( this past October ) turned 11. In the coming years he will be coming a teenager…sooo totally not ready for that folks! I wanted a way to hold on to his childhood just a little bit longer so I decided to create a year long album for his 11th year. My plan is to choose one or two memories for each month and add it into my album, creating a year long album for him to have for ever!
I grabbed my Adventure is calling Instax Mini album, some of the Filler cards from the Instax Vintage collection, the black Embellishment kit from the stationery collection , some washi and my Instax share printer all available at your local Michaels store!
The Adventure is calling Mini Album is the perfect masculine album don’t you think!
I trimmed one of the Filler cards and used my We R Memory Keepers Typecast typewriter to add an extra title to the front of my album, I simply clipped it to the front cover.
The first page opens to the title with a photo I took of my son on the day he turned 11 and that stunning Filler card which I think was the perfect way to begin my album. I added a couple of the clear gold sticker words that come in the Filler card packs.
I added an extra embellishment with the epoxy sticker from the Black Embellishment pack.
Turning the page celebrates his 11th birthday party. I added another instax photo and layered over one of the gold glitter frames over the top. The card on the right was chosen to match the colours in his cake!
I added my journaling using one of the journaling cards from the Black Stationery embellishment kit and my Typecast typewriter. I then used some washi to adhere to to the page.
The journaling lifts up to reveal a 3×4 photo that i matted with some white cardstock and adhered on top of the plastic pockets.
Such a fun way to share a photo.
Turning the page you can find more instax photos, frames and filler cards.
I slipped another frame from the Filler cards over my photo on the right. For the left pocket I trimmed down one of the filler cards and notched a banner shape to create a lift up flap.
It lifts up to reveal my journaling that is embellished with stamps from the Mini Journaling kit.
Easy embellishing with a filler card, glitter letter stickers and epoxy arrow from the black Embellishment kit.
Turning the page to find more memories.
More journaling added using my Typecast typewriter and epoxy arrow.
Halloween was recorded with a silver glitter frame and more journaling on a filler card.
With only one and a half months into his album, my son was intrigued by what i was doing when i was photographing my album so i gave it to him and he sat and looked through….he was really pleased to have an album just about him, he counted up the remaining pages to make sure there was enough for the coming months! I loved watching him take in the photos and journalling, makes me so thankful for this memory keeping journey I am on for sure.
Don’t forget you can find this album and all the goodies to go along with it at your local Michaels store now!
My son is anxious for the coming months to come so he can help me add more memories into his album…now I’m excited for my younger son’s birthday, he may just be getting his one album as well!
