GOOD MORNING! i hope that the sun is shining where you are! who is ready for the weekend?
hey… if you live in or near the Salt Lake Valley, this weekend is the Scrapbook USA Expo I will be there in the ‘My Craft Channel’ booth demoing Color Magic and Color Shine from 2-3pm both dayS! COME AND SAY HI! sounds like it will be fabulous!
SO, easter is in a week!? what are your Easter traditions? Easter has been so special to me from the time i was a very young girl. When i was much too young to understand the significance of the Saviors Resurrection… what i did understand was that it must be special because i had a brand new dress and my Grandpa Howdy would go to all kinds of effort to create a wonderful easter egg hunt for the grandkids. indeed, it’s a beautiful time of year and i am so thankful for all the signs of spring that reflect the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! however you are celebrating Easter…. here is your warning, you have about a week to ‘make pretty stuff’!
between the lovely banner that MsPate shared yesterday, and today’s fabulous goodie idea created by Maggie Massey with the help of some NEW Color POP!!… you should be well on your way to making Easter very special!
Easter is coming! Easter is coming!
I can’t believe in just a little over a week we will be celebrating Easter! Doesn’t it seem like we just got done with Christmas?!?
I looooove Easter…I love the colors, the weather (although this year in the Midwest it looks like we’ll still have snow…), the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection, the food, the candy, just everything!
This year we are hosting friends and their kids for an Easter brunch, so I wanted to make a little Easter basket treat that would work well to fill baskets for both the kids and the adults. And some of Heidi’s new Color Pop paper (hitting your local scrapbook store any day now if it’s not already there!) was just the thing I needed to create my perfect little gifts…these little candy-filled carrots.
To start, I sprayed one sheet of Apricot Pop with Georgia Peach Color Shine, and one sheet of Turquoise Pop with Mint green Color Shine…I really like the mix of sprayed and unsprayed papers, so I left another sheet of each Color Pop paper “plain.”
Then I simply cut the paper for the “carrot” end, cut the paper for the “stem” end, and added some hemp cord and a Vintage Chic Mini Tag.
Complete instructions for making these little paper carrots can be found here, on my blog…
Before I closed the bottoms of each little carrot, I added some jelly beans to the container…
I love love love these little guys! And I love how just adding some Color Shine to some of the paper adds so much to the project…and makes it look like you’ve done tons more work that you actually have…
I think that these will be a hit this Easter…if they last long enough to be appreciated…I mean, who doesn’t love jellybeans??? I think they’d also be great a little place settings for a garden party…wouldn’t that be so fun?
ok, HELLO MAGGIE MASSEY!! these could not be cuter OR easier to make! i LOVE this idea so much… totally stealing it! and lucky for me! i happen to have some Color POP!
