Are you feeling COLOR-FULL today? i have to send a HUGE thanks to my friends at Hero Arts for sending me these most fabulous NEON colored ink pads! These babies are INTENSE color! This is basically like a highlighter flattened out into ink pad form! This is neon at it’s best! The NEON craze loves SUMMER! It’s so fresh and fun and can’t be taken too seriously!
Today, in celebration of NEON and Hero ARTS, I have made a few projects combining their super HOT pink, orange and yellow inks and some super cool stamps they also sent me…with my ‘dayglow’ tapes and corners as well as some COLOR MAGIC!
The first project I made I actually had to give to my sister because yesterday was her birthday! And while she did offer to give it back to me so that I could take a photo of it… I allowed her to keep it, and I just made another one INSPIRED by the one that I made her!
I stamped the huge Hero Arts chevron stamp onto white paper with the HOT PINK ink. (can you believe it’s so intense? LOVE!). I then folded the paper in half and cut little hearts in varying sizes. I then sewed them to my card using my gold metallic thread (it’s kinda an obsession). I inked the word LUV(chipboard color magic letters from my NEW summer release) with the pink ink by rubbing the letter onto the ink pad, and the wiping the excess with a paper towel to take the ink off the resist area. I added some of my neon pink washi tape as an underline to the word… and then (and this was my favorite part). I stamped little arrows from my clear stamp set around the hearts! How cute! And quite quick and easy to make!
This second card is like an overload of pattern! This image is another Hero Arts stamp that they sent to me! I stamped the entire image in PINK onto one of my Vintage Chic 8×8 vintage chic papers. I cut more of the paper hearts, some stamped and some with orange ink on the edges.
I used the same technique I did on the LUV card, by sewing down the center of layered hearts. I then added some neon tape, a series of 3 photocorners, and some of my NEW Sentiment strips. I inked my new Color Magic letters with the orange ink, and cut the word ‘awesome’ from neon orange cardstock on my silhouette. I love how crazy fun this card is!
for this sunset layout I wanted to combine the Vintage Chic summer products with the BIG neon pops. I love this photo- all 7 of us! I really love how the background is basic enough that you can really build any project on it … and the extreme color provided by the neon items.
I didn’t clean that big sunburst stamp before adding ink, so I got this really great fade from dark to orange and pink. I also didn’t clean the chevron stamp after using it with pink ink (are you seeing a pattern) so I just added orange to the mix and I was happy with the cool result! I layered this thing up using all my favorites: neon tape, color magic banner delights, and definition stickers.
This next page is called “Star search”. I had to dedicate a page to the situation because the finding of star fish was like a mission for these kids! It was actually amazing to see the star fish up close! To make the stars on my paper, I traced a Disco star for the size and shape, and we were off and running!
Again big THANKS to you at Hero Arts! This was a a total blast!
