we get a look inside my hybrid specialist’s heart. it means a lot that Maridette shared her story today. it is a story that many of us have. it took a lot for Maridette to open herself and not only document her sadness and pain, but she then shares how to overcome the sadness through scrapbooking…

I know for me when creating a layout about me especially including a photo of me is a difficult thing. We all know that it’s just as important to document about yourself too. This layout is a very personal one. One that thousands of women go through everyday. It’s one that I’ve struggled with for 12 years…..INFERTILITY. We have one beautiful daughter as you may have seen in my projects before. She is now 13 and we’ve tried since she was a year old. After numerous tests, IVF cycles and some other issues my struggle has ended after having a hysterectomy. I’m healing physically and mentally. Even though we couldn’t have another baby. It’s ok. I have prayed. I have the right to mourn. To be sad. But you know what? As long as we all have our health and I have my family, everything will be ok. I just trust in that things happen for a reason.

On a lighter note, I was inspired by this photo. The colors, design and that black and white rug. I knew exactly what I wanted to use.

To start I used Color Magic 8×8 Paper pack in hexagon. I sprayed it with Gold Lame Color Shine. I then grabbed the Color Magic 12 x12 paper pack and used the hexagon paper. I distressed the edges with Gold paint. I then cut up some random individual hexagons and sprayed them with Color Shine in Primrose, Georgia Peach and Mustard. Then added them to my layout by using pop dots on a couple of the hexagons. I layered some of the two different black and white pieces of paper, yellow polka dot and B&W tag from the Sugar Chic paper pad. Then, I adhered the Color Pop Banner Delights in Black and white underneath the photo.

I had to add my favorite transparent Clear Pop Alphas in mint.

I love keeping any packaging or negative piece from a product to be used in my layout. Here I used the negative heart piece from the Clear Pop Tags. I traced the heart onto the Serendipity New Day paper and cut it out. I wrote a quote that just spoke to me. I cut out this cute striped heart and Label Stickers with my Cameo from Heidi Swapp’s Digi shop Mother’s Day kit. You can watch this video tutorial from Heidi on how to convert your png file to cut onto the Cameo. I then sprayed with Gold Lame. Adhered the heart, label sticker, “love” Black and White Buzz word and Sentiment Stickers. Lastly, dressed up the tag with seam binding ribbon sprayed with Gold Lame.
