The thing I love most about scrapbooking is getting my family’s stories down on paper. I love when I am creating my pages that those memories come flooding back. This particular story happened just over 12 months ago and I am relieved to finally get the story told. We spent the day at our annual state fair and I took lots of photos, so many photos that I needed to find a way to get lots of them on a page! My solution- a double page! The Hawthorne collection found at your local Jo-Ann Craft and Fabric store and in particular the Hayden pattern paper with the cow hide pattern was the perfect starting point for my layout. All Heidi Swapp products, including Hawthorne, is 50% total purchase with coupon through Thursday 9/6/18! Get your printable coupon here.
On the left side my layout introduces the story and on the right side all my photos help tell the story.
The left page starts with the Hayden pattern paper from the Hawthorne collection. I then found this fun cut file from the Silhouette store and cut it out on some white American Crafts cardstock and layered it over the Hayden pattern paper.
I laid my photo to the right of my layout, layering it over the cut file for a cohesive effect.
I used my We R Memory Keepers Bow die to cut out my cute bow for my cow which echoes the cow in the photo. I used the darling Sugarhouse pattern paper also from the Hawthorne and adhered it to my layout.
I then grabbed one of the Hawthorne foam words and my Iridescent foil. I rubbed the foil onto the foam word and then laid it over my photo. I also added some of the spotty washi to my photo for a fun effect.
I layered some of the Word Jumble stickers and then my strip journaling to the left of my cut file. I added some stamping use the Phrases Clear stamps to complete the page.
The right hand page consists of 19 photos ( 3 hidden under some flaps) to create a full page of photos. I edited my photos to be square then printed them out two per 4 x6 photo paper. I then laid them down in rows on another 12 x 12 piece of white American Crafts cardstock.
I then added some of the Ephemera pieces and Word Jumble stickers over the top of my photos. I also added a couple of stickers from the Travel Storyline kit Journal to my layout.
As I mentioned I had some extra photos so I created a couple of lift up flaps using some of the washi tape.
The photos lift up to reveal more photos underneath.
I just love this family memory, my boys are growing so fast and maybe one day they wont want their photo taken…but for now I am grateful for family time and family memories ! Don’t forget you can find the Hawthorne collection at your local Jo-Ann Craft and Fabrics store!
