Hello everyone and happy Friday!
Today I am up on the blog to not only share my latest layout with you…but also a fun tutorial using some of the brand new Heidi Swapp Hawthorne products. I promise you will love it.
If you have had a chance to either look at the collection (or even better get your hands on some of it) then you know that in the Hawthorne release you will find these awesome foil flakes and two different sized tipped glue pens.
These pens come in 2 sizes, a fine tip and wide tip, and are made to be used to add a variety of different finishes to your paper crafting projects such as (but not limited to) Minc foils and foil flakes.
The foil flakes are available in 3 colors: silver, rose gold and gold. I chose to use the rose gold for my layout.
The lovely thing about the glue pens is all the different ways they can be used.
You can use them to free hand write, embellish layouts, add further detailing to embellishments or like I how chose to use the pen…with a stencil. There are truly no limits to the pens so let your imagination run wild when playing with them.
Watch below to see just how easy it is to use glue pens and a stencil design to create a customized background for a scrapbook page!
Tips when using the glue pens and foil flakes:
*Make sure when you first open your pen that you “prime” it. Simply push the tip up and down on a scrap paper until you see the glue penetrating the tip. It will take a few good seconds for this to happen.
*There is no wait time required when using the glue pens with the foil flakes. I find the glue pen dries rather quickly so once you have completed your desired design immediately apply the foil flakes to it. Press them down gently and then buff the excess off with your finger.
*Have FUN! These pens work SO well with the foil flakes I am completely obsessed. I want to try mixing some of the foil flake colors together on a next project. How fun would that be?!?
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you get your hands on these amazing glue pens and foil flakes. I know you will love them as much as I do. Happy creating friends!
