I’ve heard it said that this generation of kids will be the most photographed in history.
They will also be the first generation to have very few tangible photographs of themselves.
That makes me so sad.
Especially considering I don’t know a kid out there that doesn’t love staring at photos of themselves from when they were younger.
Heck, I STILL love looking at my baby photos!
Now, taking that into consideration, I would say that one of my most important jobs as a mom is to be the family’s memory-keeper.
I’m the one that takes the photos and I’m the one that scraps & documents them.
I love this job.
And I’m trying my hardest to pass my love of memory-keeping down to my kids.
Now that my older kids are off making memories I’m not involved in (sniff…), I want them to remember these incredibly important times in their lives.
I want them to have records of all of the fun stuff they do with their friends. It’s so important to who they are and who they are becoming.
And all it takes to keep those memories fresh in their minds is a photo.
A single photograph of an event can spark so many memories…it’s like a catalyst…opening the flood gates for the brain to bring back thoughts, emotions, tastes & smells. It’s just remarkable.
One of the best gifts you can give this holiday is the gift of memory-keeping.
And one of the easiest ways to do that is with Fujifilm & Heidi Swapp.
So, this Christmas, my oldest child, is getting her own Instax Mini 9.
With just an Instax camera, some film, and a few of the most beautiful albums you’ve ever seen, you can get your teens started on their own documenting.
This past weekend, my daughter invited her friend, Fiona, over for a little mini gift-exchange. I gave Kinsley her camera, and then gave both girls a couple of Heidi’s newest Instax albums and some film.
The film is so easy to load…just open up the package, pop in the cartridge and you’re ready to roll!
The camera even comes with batteries, so you really can start taking photos right away!
The girls had so much fun taking photos of themselves and of each other…
…and get this! Right on the front of the Mini 9 is a little mirror…you just line yourself (and a friend!) up with the mirror and say cheese!
The perfect Instax selfie.
And, because the camera gives you an instant photo, the girls were able to create albums right there on the spot with some of their favorite shots.
The Instax Vintage Mini Albums are the perfect way to store your Instax shots…
…and when you want to do a little journaling – grab one of Heidi’s Instax Vintage Photo Journals to help you tell more of the story.
And don’t worry…there are more masculine options, too, for that young male aspiring documenter in your life!
My hope for these girls is that they continue to document all of the big (and little!) things in their lives.
I’m certain they will never regret it…
