As a product designer, once in awhile, you create a product that you think is awesome... but no one "gets" it! This is one of those items... I think it's one of my most versatile and useful items in the line... I love them because you can create so many different things using them. I created a bunch of little samples and pages one night so that you could see what i had in mind! They come in: brown, crimson, grass, icee, jet and pink. There are 14, 12" strips in each package... they have limitless possibilities!

I used a couple of different width strips to create this title. It's handy to trim them to just the right size for words. I sanded the edges, mainly because I can't stop myself from sanding everything! Here is a tip for cutting the chipboard: I stick it in my fiskars trimmer and cut, it doesn't cut all the way through, so I usually just bend the cut open and finish with my scissors. The reason I use the trimmer first is to be sure that it's a straight cut. Same thing for using a corner rounder. (you do know never to try to 'corner round' free handed... Right?) I use the rounder to indent the chipboard and then trim along the indention line.
I cut chipboard strips into little rectangles to spell the word "sisters" I used tapes to create that little background design, I punched holes in the tape and layered different widths of tape. I love the hibiscus from the scrapbook scenery!
I used the chipboard strips to create a frame here... I decorated it with scrapbook scenery rub-ons, tape and ribbon.
On this layout, I used the chipboard strips to put the word "Nashville" with rub-on alphabets. Here I used chipboard diamonds, but you could cut diamonds out of the strips as well... They make such a cool boarder. I embellished with the black diamond drama scrapbook scenery rub-on.
The pink bordeaux rub-on letters look so good on this brown chipboard! I love it! I cut the strips to just the right sizes needed for the squares and the wordstrip.
On this quick little card, I used my 1/8" hole punch on the 1/4" wide strip. Makes a fun and easy border. A little square of chipboard strip creates a nice reinforcer for the ribbon closure.
This little matchbook style card uses chipboard strips for the letters "cute" and for that pink border. The 1/8" size is so fun for dimension.
More corners and borders created here...I notched these corners out to create a little more 'classic' photo corner look. Then I backed them with a little grosgrain ribbon. So cute. Again, I can't keep from sanding it! Looks so awesome!
For this little sample, I used the chipboard strip as a mounting plate for a word created with the chipboard alphabet. Looks cute with the rub-on letters on the alphabet itself. I then attached the strip to the card with a little piece of ribbon.
Here is a simple idea for a page element. Simply sew a piece of chipboard strip on 3 sides to your page and tuck the photo right in. I wrapped a ribbon and ghost flower around the photo to 'girlie it up'... And then added some rub-on letters as well.
I admit to getting carried away with this one! But I was having a blast! I first used my foam stamp set "center of attention" to create the word "DAYS". I then pulled from the Summer Frame Kit rub-on sheet to embellish a series of different widths and lengths of strips. I attached them with their specially matching brads. The top little mini chipboard tag is my favorite. SO CUTE...and so easy to make. You gotta love that.
I 'love' ribbon slides, this one was created in a snap from chipboard strips. I did use a corner rounder, and cut a quick slit on each side with a craft/paper knife and threaded the ribbon through and wrapped it around the photo.
This little frame can go around titles, journaling, photos... You name it. To create this frame, cut 2 of each side-length and miter the edge (cut on a 45 degree angle). I drew a little pink border in the middle and dangled a chipboard heart and definition.
This little tag happened in about a nano-second. And I love it! Again, just used the chipboard strips, 2 different widths.
For this I just rubbed the words in place on the strips and THEN cut to length. I attached them together w/ ribbon... Ready for the perfect page.
Here I embellished the strip with decorative tape and cute Making Memories tiny letters... And then dangled the chipboard letters... (gasp, I didn't sand all the edges!)-- but I did add jewels.
