I remember the very first time I met Heidi…about 4 years ago. It was the first time all of the members of her Media Team had met, and Heidi was talking to us about dreams and goals. She mentioned that those things – dreams & goals – become more attainable…become more possible when you write them down – when you make them real.
SIDE NOTE: IF YOU EVER GET THE CHANCE TO HEAR HEIDI SPEAK IN PERSON – YOU MUST TAKE IT. MUST.
She is, without question, the most motivational, heart-felt, warm, personable speaker I’ve ever heard…and her words will stick with you forever.
OK, back to my post…
I will never forget that day…and I will never forget those words.
That idea really left such an impact on me. I’ll admit, however,I’ve not been very good about writing those things down.
It’s not because I’ve been too lazy, or I’ve not thought I could make things happen…but because I don’t always know what my goals are. I’m not always sure what I want to achieve or where I want to head next. In fact, my life has always been pretty status quo.
A few weeks ago – when Heidi was first sneaking photos of her newest Memory Planner collection on Instagram – she mentioned that she was going to use this new personal-sized, traveler’s notebook to record daily goals (read that post here) and I was immediately inspired. Then, a few days later, my fellow team member, Jamie Pate, mentioned she was going to do something similar with her notebook and I was inspired all over again (read her post here). I knew it was time to start taking this goal-setting thing seriously. So I grabbed my notebook and got started.
Before I show what I’ve created, let’s take a look at this planner.
This little black leather notebook cover comes with 2 notebook inserts…here’s what they look like inside…
The left-hand side of the page includes an undated week…and the right-hand side is a grid that is perfect for bullet-journaling, notes, doodles, anything!
I decided that I would also use a few of Heidi’s planner insert pages to go along with my notebook…the “Goals” & “Meal Plan” inserts work beautifully for me…
Here is the front cover of my notebook…
I included a few of Heidi’s new clear stickers, just to add some color.
I have started writing down a few things that are meaningfull to me…a few personal goals and some creative goals…and I know that as I go along I’ll start to turn this planner into more of what I have intended for it. I’ve started to really try to assess what’s important to me and where I really want to be and I’m trying get those thoughts into words…and, hopefully – and more importantly – into actions.
Here you can see that I’ve added one of the pages from the “Meal Plan” inserts. I cut the holes off the left side of the page and have used a clip to keep it inside my notebook. I did the same with the “Goals” insert in one of the photos above and used a piece of washi tape from the new collection to adhere it to the page behind it.
I also added a few little photos. I love this and I’m definitely going to continue with it.
Heidi’s new Memory Planner collection is just perfect for anything you want to document…anything. Even if you’ve never kept track before…now may just be the time to start.
I’m so excited about working to keep up with this planner…figuring out my goals…tracking my motivation…and hopefully seeing some progress. I think my biggest issue right now is figuring out exactly what I want this book to look like…exactly what I want to write down…but I’m getting there…it’s coming along – slowly but surely.
Thanks so much for taking a look!
I so hope I’ve inspired you (even just a little) to write stuff down!
