Happy Thursday, everyone!
Maggie here with a look at 2 layouts I created using Heidi’s Storyline collection and the brand new Jane Davenport Inkredible Inks – available at Michaels stores now!
When I first saw these beautiful inks I was so taken aback with their beautiful colors and their beautiful bottles!
I’m a huge sucker for pretty packaging…
I wanted to try to incorporate some of my favorites into my scrapbooking so I started messing around with them a bit – dropping color onto some scrap sheets to get a better idea of how they looked and how they work.
*Let me add a quick side note in here…not only are these bottles incredibly gorgeous, but the ink inside has a fragrance! So the Limeade smells like limes! The Watermelon smells like watermelon! It’s so so cool!* OK…back to the post…
I decided that I prefer these bright, bold colors a little tamed down, so I diluted them using water and Jane’s new Mister Bottles.
I added an entire dropper full of ink to about a 1/2″ of water and began spraying them onto my paper.
I sprayed some areas, and then took out the sprayer nozzle and tapped the end of it onto my paper to create some droplets.
I love the way my pages turned out, and I think they make the perfect backgrounds for some Storyline layouts!
Instead of choosing between the two color groups, I decided to create two pages…but I didn’t really want any extra work. So I created the same page twice!
I searched through my photos and chose two that fit with my sprayed backgrounds.
Then I searched through my Deck of Days kits and found embellishments of the same sizes and shapes that would work for my themes.
Here’s my first page:
I placed my photo in the middle of my page – slightly to the left of center – and then arranged some of my Deck of Days embellishment stickers down the photo’s right side.
Some journaling directly under my photo completes this layout – easy peasy!
I just love how my sprayed background shows through under my photo & stickers.
Here’s my second page…exactly the same as my first in design:
Again, I just love how background colors from the Inkcredible Inks peek through!
I think one of my favorite things about Jane’s new inks is that they can be used at full concentration or watered down a bit to create different tones of color – this makes them so versatile.
And I love that I was able to get two more stories told with beautiful color and quick & easy design!
Thanks so much for taking a look!
