Happy National Handwriting Day!
Yep – there’s actually a National Handwriting Day…go figure.
When is the last time you documented your handwriting?
Oh, you never have?
Well, you should.
I know that some of you out there hate the way you write.
You’re comparing your perfectly fantastic handwriting to someone else’s perfectly fantastic handwriting and you feel like yours comes up short.
Well, stop it.
The way you write is part of who you are…and it’s awesome.
And it deserves to be documented.
I recently took a photo of myself writing at my desk.
OK…scratch that. I recently took a photo of myself PRETENDING to write at my desk.
But I’m sure that’s what I look like when I actually do it, too.
Then I scrapped that photo…on my very favorite collection, Storyline…and journaled a bit about the role handwriting has played in my creative journey.
It was quick & easy…Storyline layouts always are…and it documents something that has always been important to me.
So here’s my challenge to you:
Write something today.
Write a poem, or a short story, or do some jounaling, or something…and then add it to a scrapbook page, or TN page or PL spread.
If you’re not journaling about your actual handwriting – then make a note somewhere on your page about the fact that this is how your handwriting looks right now.
I bet you’ll be glad you did.
It’s just one more story that should be told.
Thank you so much for stopping by! I really hope I’ve inspired you to document your handwriting…today & often from now on.
And before you go…HERE are some really cool facts about why handwriting is so important.
