I am super super excited today to introduce you to Heidi’s newest Storyline collection arriving NOW in Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores! The one thing I love the most is the BRAND NEW Storyline Mini Albums. These are perfectly sized for you to hold them in your hands while looking through and recalling your precious memories. I opted to create a Travel album with the “Life is a Wild Ride” Mini Album, but they could be used to celebrate a birthday, a graduation or a year in the life.
Let me share my Mini album with you. It took me about 4 hours to put it together, that includes editing and printing the photos, designing and creating each page and adding my journaling!
As I mentioned above I chose to use the Life Is A Wild Ride Mini Album. I adore the iridescent words on the front cover.
Opening the cover I added a postcard that I bought when we were in Port Douglas. It was the perfect way to introduce the destination. I layed the postcard down next to the coils, marked the holes then used a small hole punch to punch the circles, I then used scissors to snip in from the edge and then pushed it through the coils to add to my album.
Turning the page you find the hand written title page in Heidi’s hand writing.
I then grabbed the Travel Deck Of Days set, the Travel Journal kit and the 2 new washi sets and set to work creating my Mini Album.
I layered one of the Deck of Days cards with pop dots over my photo. I added that white cut file that I had cut on my silhouette and I had in my stash to my page.
Next I added a full page photo into my album using the same technique as the post card. I then adhered the photo to the page.
On the left I added my photos then used my typewriter to add my journaling onto one of the Journaling stickers from the Journaling kit. I then adhered it over the top of my photo.
Next I added my photos in a row across the double page and added strips of washi to help hold the photos down and for some fun pops of color.
On the right I added my photos, Deck of days card and stickers from the Travel journal kit in a grid design.
On the left I used one of the Hawthorne Minc foam words and pressed on some hot pink foil then layered it over my photo and another Deck of Days cards.
Again I added my photos and Deck Of days Cards and a cut file I had in my stash. The small size of the pages makes it easy to design and put together pages quickly.
On this double page I added my photo next to my journaling. I used one of the large journaling stickers , added my journaling with my typewriter and adhered it to the page. I added another Hawthorne Minc foam sticker with pink foil to accentuate the pinks in the photos and embellishments
On this page I created a pocket with my photo by adhering it on both sides and across the bottom. Again I layered one of the journaling stickers and Hawthorne Minc foam stickers over the photo. This time I used the teal foil with the foam sticker.
I love that I can add extra photos and other bits and pieces into my pocket.
Another double spread with a photo and Deck Of Days grid design.
On the right page I used one of the triangle Deck of Days cards and trimmed a piece of white pattern paper to fit the triangle to create a mountain.
Lots more photos and memories.
My photo adhered with washi tape lifts up to reveal my journaling underneath.
This might be my favorite page. I love that beautiful “Get your happy” Deck Of Day card! It is perfect for any tropical holiday memory. I added some stickers and washi to further complement the tropical photos.
My photo lifts up to reveal my journaling underneath.
Another full size photo with a round Deck Of Days card adhered with pop dots for extra dimension.
I had a lot of photos to add to this page so I added a flip up page with some paper from my stash with some washi.I added that Happy As a Clam Deck of Days card to serve as a page opener. You cam see it is perfect for my clam photo.
The page lifts to reveal more photos and a QR code of the leopard shark swimming around us when we were swimming on the Great Barrier Reef. I had uploaded the photo to Youtube and used my QR creator to create the code which I printed off and added to my page. I can now scan the QR code and view the video. How cool right!
More photos accentuated with washi tape.
and the journaling sticker tucked under my diecut palm tree.
Finally I added 4 square photos across the bottom of my pages. I surround the photos with stickers, washi and Deck Of Days cards.
and more QR codes of my kids running and diving into the pool.
I just love this Mini Album. It was is easy and more importantly so fun to put together. I have flipped through it countless times and have re lived our memories over and over. Dont forget you can find the whole new Storyline 2 collection at your local Joann store!
