2 san francisco memory file projects
I just realized that I never showed off one of my favorite Memory File creations, so while this is a little random…I kinda just love it, so I wanted to share!
my san fran file
at the end of March I had a day of classes lined up at a great store in N. Calif, Scrapbook Island in San Jose to be exact…so I tacked on an extra day for some San Francisco inspiration. Love me some San Fran, and one day is not nearly enough, but you take what you can get! About that time, I was honored to be asked to be the guest designer at Studio Calico… so this project was actually created with stuff that they sent me (which by the way felt like Christmas! A girl could get used to that!)
SO… I took my favorite of the Color Magic folders, (the diag stripe) and used the ‘warm grey’ Mister Huey… I love the black and white look.
The insides of the Color Magic folders, are just white, so I covered it with some of the papers from the kit- specifically My Mind’s Eye… That gave me a gorgeous background for a unique, non-traditional mini that I sewed into the folder. I loved all the gorgeous coordinating papers included in the kit. I plastered photos throughout the mini, and added ½ a foto stack on the back inside page of the folder for additional photos of my day at Scrapbook Island.
But I think that my favorite part of this project is that FAB red color on the Color Magic banner delights, and alphas. It’s called ‘overdue’ Mister Huey. I love it. This is one of those projects that just makes me happy! I love it…
maridette’s san fran file
my sweet friend Maridette Cachola made an awesome project for my CHA booth in January that captured one of her favorite trips to San Fran so i thought it would be fun to share it here too.
Maridette used my ‘no limits’ collection & made a ‘standup scrapbook page’ with a cut out that houses a little foto flip book full of photos from that trip!
Here’s what Dette has to say about her gorgeous project:
“I always love to find new ways to create a decor that’s interactive. Heidi’s match booklet was perfect for this wooden frame that you get from your local craft store. I used foam dots to give it depth covered it with a clear acetate that you get from BAZZILL added strips of paper to frame it. The match booklet fit perfectly into the pocket. We love going to the City (San Francisco) and I wanted to create a cute mini showcasing one of our trips. We love to hang out and shop. This is one of the best places to shop and because there’s such a variety of foods we love to try different restaurants. Good friends, good eats… Great times.”
thanks ‘Dette for letting me share your San Fran file along with mine today!
I actually have a 3rd San Fran File that I want to show you from my friend Kinsey … but we’ll save that amazing little gem for another day !!
