3 Ways to Create a One of a Kind Layout
One of my favorite techniques for creating a unique scrapbook page is to combine a number of products. Sometimes it is good to work with a coordinating collection, all the hard work of color combos and design has been done for you! However sometimes I like to work outside the box a little and create my own design collection. Today I am combining 3 of my favs to create a one of a kind layout! I am using the Storyline collection, the Heidi Swapp sticker book and some brand new watercolor paints from Jane Davenport. The best thing of all is that all three collection are available at your local Michaels store!
I started by painting some loose flowers on some watercolor paper from my stash using the Jane Davenport Glitz Watercolor Set. Once dry I trimmed around the edge. I then ran the leaves through my sewing machine for some extra texture.
I then laid them onto one of the 12 x 12 pages from the Storyline album into again a loose posy design.
I then layered some of the Storyline Deck Of Days stickers in and around the flowers. I like that they become part of the floral cluster.
I then went through the Sticker pack and added some of the clear word sayings in and around the Deck Of Days stickers.
I added my photo and re added one of the Dec Of Days hearts with pop dots for extra dimension. I then added some of the washi tape above my photo, and most importantly my journaling which I created with my We R Memory Keepers Typecast typewriter, cutting them into strips.
I think this might be my new favorite layout. The thing I love the most is that I created my own design and own color combos and embellishments.
It was so easy to combine a few different pieces of ephemera, paints and stickers. I cant wait to try this technique again. Don’t forget you can find all these pieces at your local Michaels store!
