4 Tricks to Transform Your Office & Craft Space
Jessica’s office is in the corner of her bedroom and since it was the first thing she saw when she woke up every morning, she wanted it to be inspiring and motivational. You don’t need to have a big house or a lot of money to make a space your own! (Here is the “before”).
Here is the transformation!
Here are 4 tricks I used to create a stunning space Jessica will love to work at!
I knew Jessica loved black, white, and gold. That was the easy part! Pick a color you love. If you already have a table and like it, use it as one of your colors as I did here. If you love a bold color like red, pink, or orange use that to kick off your accent pieces! Jessica loves white space so I made sure to paint her Heidi Swapp Instax Desktop Flip Calendar white instead of leaving it unfinished!
I used her own supplies to add to that color scheme and left those that distracted from it off the desk.
Like most creatives, Jessica is inspired visually. She loves to keep a mood board up at her space keeping her focused on her dreams and goals for upcoming projects. I created a grid-style mood board where she could clip her favorite photos, quotes, and magazine clippings. (Who still does this instead of always pinning to a Pinterest board?!) Getting some items that you use all the time off the desk and hung on the grid saves time looking for them! I hung her scissors in that spot.
I also added the Instax Banner Kit to the grid panel and the string of lights adds a little whimsical touch!
Adding a personal touch always makes a space feel finished. The easiest way to do that is by adding your favorite photos. Jessica just had a photo shoot done of her most recent work, so I went ahead and used my Instax Share Printer and printed the photos of her from my phone.
This Heidi Swapp Instax Photo Display Stand comes gold with the magnetic clips! All I had to do is clip the photos, clip a quote from the Instax Card Pack, and set it out!
I made sure to add a few extra photos to a matching Instax album so that she would know where to put these when she was ready to change them out for new ones. I even added some extra cards on the inside to help prompt her own storytelling.
She was so surprised when she saw the photos! It was like magic seeing those Instax prints!
If you have to work, you might as well be having fun, right?! Adding this funny quote to a Heidi Swapp Letterboard made quite the statement. I left the extra letters in a cute storage box on the desk so she could change the quote out when she was ready to.
This quote was special since I knew that Jessica loves using large crochet hooks and needles for her garments.
A big thank you for letting me into your home to create a new space for you to create in, Jessica! If you would like to follow Jessica Carey, you can find her on Instagram at @the.hook.nook or at her website here.
