5 Ways to Use the Washi Tape Kit
As with all things trends ebb and flow. Our paper hobby alone has seen tools and embellishments come and go through the years. Sometimes we use them all up. Some times we hoard these things…for years…Heidi Swapp Sanding Pads anyone?
While I am a fan of the specific pretty collection pieces that make a range of papers complete, I’m also a fan of those type products that are functional. Have multiple usage. Are not only pretty, but can also be employed in creative and useful purposes.
Enter the washi tape roll.
And what’s better than a single roll of washi tape?
Seventeen rolls of washi tape! Yep.
This is an example of when more is better.
This washi tape collection is the Handmade by Heidi Washi Tape Kit available at JOANN.
It’s all pretty-upped in a gift box…
but you don’t wanna do that.
You want to use this washi tape kit to decorate all the pretty projects from start to finish.
This versatile little crafter product is here to help make borders, small embellishments, and more.
Today is the more.
Let’s explore 5 ways to use washi tape in and around our crafty life.
These ways aren’t completely brand new to you.
However, I wanted to explore the versatility with the Washi Tape Kit.
First, the proverbial paper clip flags.
In and around my planners I love to use these diy clips to keep my pages closed, or marked for future quick access.
Taking a small strip of washi tape, just wrap it around a single piece of wire on the clip.
I prefer the larger clips for this embellishment.
Clip it in your travelers notebooks, or planners, or…you get the idea. The possibilities are plenty.
Second, paper punch embellishments.
Not only is this technique a super way to get more out of your washi…
but it also uses tools that are held up in your stash.
So bring out those paper punches.
Place a strip of washi on a piece of cardstock scrap.
And punch away.
This is a cute embellishment for your travelers notebooks too.
Third idea I have been playing with in my travelers planner is what I like to call the planner flag.
This little washi tape hack is super simple.
Just pull a swatch of tape off the roll.
Place on the front of the page along the edge, and then secure to the back of the page.
Add several for layers and effects.
V-notch a larger piece of tape for additional interest.
This fourth idea is just pretty. I call this the washi embellished envelope.
I created a little mini envelope to fit on the planner page.
Then I just added washi tape to the flap. It turned out so pretty. This will be showing up again.
The fifth idea I have to share with you today is that classic use of washi tape in a planner or travelers notebook…
and that is the hinged card.
Grab a quote card you may like to have on your planner page. Place a piece of washi tape across the top so that it extends past the card.
Adhere the stickie edge to the page with the quote card facing up. Works like a charm. Every time.
Those are just five ideas for the Heidi Swapp Handmade by Heidi Washi Tape Kit. There are 17 washi tapes in that kit in which to try these concepts. And here’s my challenge: play with these versatile embellishments and come up with your own creative ways to craft with these on trend products.
