New Memory Keeping Time Capsule
Hello, hello!
Maggie here today with a look at just one piece of Heidi’s AMAZING new Memory Keeping Collection…the REMEMBER Time Capsule!
Raise your hand if you’ve ever made a time capsule…chances are you have…
(raises hand and starts shouting ooooh, oooh, ooooh, me, me, me!)
I’ll never forget…we did this in high school. Our entire freshman class created a time capsule (full of memoribilia from the year and our class) and buried it – not to be opened until we were seniors.
Our time capsule was just a tin box…and we didn’t take the time to make anything pretty. We just sorta shoved stuff in.
But, I always thought it was the neatest idea.
And now Heidi has created an updated (and BEAUTIFUL) version perfect for memory-keepers like us.
This new time capsule (one of 2 that has just been released) comes as a darling little mini-album…complete with a set of stickers…
…and 8 pages of envelopes.
Inside each envelope is enclosed a sheet of journaling paper…perfect for recording anything you’d like to remember.
Also available in Heidi’s new Memory Keeping Collection are these fantastic embellishment kits. There are 4 new kits: Family, Travel, Memory Planner & Time Capsule, and they are JAM-PACKED with little bits and pieces just perfect for documenting!
I used the Time Capsule & Family kits for this project…
Now for this particular time capsule, I wanted to document some of the things I want to remember most about my daughter. Things that I think about often and wish most for her…things that I want her to know and to remember forever.
I printed out some photos that I believed exemplified the exact things I wanted her to know…and got to work telling those stories.
I added just a few little simple embellishments to my photos and letters and tucked them into their envelopes…
*NOTE: the envelopes included in the time capsule measure just under 4″ in width so you will have to trim a 4×6 photo down just a bit…*
I used a couple photos for each of my envelopes – but you can add as many – or as few! – as you’d like. Don’t feel like adding photos? Then don’t! Use your time capsule in any way you’d like…just get those stories told!
I added a few little embellishments to the outside of my envelopes, too. And I was sure to add the date I sealed each one…(the Time Capsule Embellishment Kit even has a stamp set that includes “sealed on” and “open” date stamps! So so cool!
For this envelope I included a letter about Kinsley’s relationships with her brothers…
…and for this one I included my thoughts on how she’s always loved to get dressed up and do her makeup.
I included 2 photos – one where she’s all made up as a toddler, and one where’s she all made up as a teenager…I can’t believe how fast the time goes…
Just as a little extra embellishing, I added the year I put the time capsule together to the inside front cover of my book…
…and I added “THINGS TO” and the little heart to the front cover.
*NOTE: I added these elements with the alpha stickers found in the Family Embellishment Kit*
I LOVE these big chunky pages!
Once I was done with my time capsule, I popped it right into my daughter’s big memory bin. I can’t wait until the day she goes through everything – maybe when she’s home from college, or moving out (sigh), or getting married (double sigh) – and finds this.
And on that day I’ll cry and cry and cry…happy tears.
I’ve started time capsules for each of my boys, too. It’s so cool just how different everybody’s letters are turning out…
Heidi has completely hit it out of the ballpark with this collection. Run, don’t walk, to your nearest Michaels to pick every last piece up…I promise you won’t regret it.
