Adding Foil Glam To Your Holiday Table
There are many opportunities to make one’s holiday table special this time of year. While I don’t do it that often, the holidays bring out in me the inspiration to show up just a little bit more for my family and make the day beautiful. One way I do this is by creating table place cards. And one way I make it even more special? Is with that handy little Minc Machine.
Gathering just a few things this is how I go about making these very simple cards. For one, that pretty Minc Machine. The need in my creative life is great during the holidays for that machine. I love having that table top crafting tool to add the glam just where I need it.
Then of course foil. For this project I decided on the Rose Gold. Such a pretty color. And since this is specifically for our Thanksgiving breakfast table, the color is inspiring the best vibe.
For this project I created 3×2 cards each with a family members name on them. I chose a text that I thought fit the mood. When ready to print, I sent the document to my laser printer. The laser toner ink is what reacts to the foil, which you will see in the next image.
As per the Minc Machine instructions, I then ran the cards through my Minc Machine with the Rose Gold Foil. And tah dah! Pretty foiled place cards for the table. These all by themselves are pretty special. But I couldn’t leave them just like that.
This time I actually changed up my mind and instead of folding the card I cut them at the fold. I also ran a Minc Glue Pen on the edges of the card to add a bit of ‘foil distressing’. Next I cut leaves from some Carefree pattern paper in my stash. Punching a hole in the corner I then added a bit of twine.
The twine tied to my little pumpkin and now sits in it’s place ready for our morning gathering. See how simply the Minc Foil creates a very special place setting? I’m here for the simplicity. I’m here for making spaces special. I’m here for making my holiday table a little bit of glam for a beautiful day.
