ART WALK COPTIC NOTEBOOK USING MINC and TEXTURE PASTE
Hello everyone and welcome to Wednesday.
I want to share what is bringing me joy lately, and hands down that is the gorgeous Art Walk paper collection from Heidi Swapp.
It is everything my soul needs right now and anything that is bold, happy and bright. Bring it on!
I also love that it is a collection full of mixed media touches, without the work of mixed media! Isn’t that an added bonus?
Last week I shared my love for the brand new Minc Texture Paste, and this week I have to give it even MORE love as I used it in collaboration with Art Walk to create myself a coptic notebook. It is just TOO GOOD I tell ya. The best!
To create my album cover I used my electronic cutting machine to create this stencil.
I came across this quote the other night and I just loved it. So I typed out the text in my cutting software and then had my machine cut it out of this cover from my Color Fresh paper pad. Heidi shared this technique with me awhile back and it really works great if you are wanting to make your own stencils to use at home. The cover pages of paper pads are the best thickness and work perfectly with mediums such as texture paste.
I used the gorgeous vellum paper from the Art Walk project pad to apply my stencil and paste onto. I love this paper. It is a thicker vellum, a bit translucent and the colours are so vibrant and pretty.
I chose the beautiful classic champagne Minc foil for this one and ran it through my Minc.
And voila! Nothing but an amazing pull back image of gorgeous Minc magic. Never gets old!
I am using this paper to create the cover of my coptic notebook, and then using additional papers from the Art Walk project pad to create the album’s inside pages. The project pad is great for all kinds of projects whether its album making, card making or even scrapbook pages. With a variety of pattern papers, solids and fun extras it is really impressive how many options there are with just one paper pad!
Using my ever favourite We R Memory Keepers Book Binding Tool, it makes assembling and prepping albums like these a breeze with it’s no fail paper piercing and measuring system.
You can learn more about how to use these binding tools here.
I really love how the Minc Texture Paste looks on my cover page and the Art Walk collection truly does create such stunning projects.
Creating notebooks and journals is one of my most favourite things to do and this project just brought me sheer joy. I hope it made you smile too. 🙂
Thank you so much for checking out my latest project. Remember, you can find everything I shared here today right now online at JOANN.
See you next time!
