baby boy scrapbooking
I have a horrible habit that has resulted in these scrapbook pages completed… when I am totally stressed out, and deadlines are bearing down… without fail, I retreat into recreational scrapbooking. i haven’t taken very many photos of Connor, nor have I taken the time to work on a baby announcement, or focus on trying to get a great photo for the announcement. And now, this little boy is suddenly just over 3 weeks, and my head is still spinning just a bit! somehow, the scrapbooking centers me. relaxes me. and makes me happy. I love to scrapbook. I love to enjoy the photos, and the feelings. Especially late at night. And I have totally be regretting the staying up late the last few nights when the morning comes and I have huge bags under my eyes, but at the same time, my soul needs the quiet, heidi time. It’s so precious to me, and I guess these days, I have to pay a higher price than usual for it. so… I thought I would share. I will be appearing on the QVC craft day on August 14th and I have the opportunity to present 5 new kits. So I will be able to use these samples on air for a couple of the kits, so see… killing 2 birds w/ one stone! I will be giving a pre-view of what I’m presenting as we get a little closer. I have to say, I am quite OUT of practice creating little baby boy pages. I really dug into my paper stash… Scenic Route, My Mind’s Eye, Crate paper…and of course, who can scrapbook without Bazzill Cardstock. (impossible). The other recent obsession: my Journaling Spot Stamps. Each sku has 5-6 clear stamps that are in the shape of my ever-enjoyable journaling spots. You can see that I have used them on every layout. I can’t get enough of them! when I get on a ‘kick’… it’s hard to get off it! connor is such a sweet angel baby! I just love him! We all do! he is a joy.

31 July, 2007 at 1:14 amEnjoy the me-time, everyone needs some once in a while. Certainly when life gets hectic on you. I too love the peace and quiet scrapbooking provides me 🙂 Even when i crop with my mom, we hardly say a word. Just listening to the radio, and enjoying the atmosphere of creating. We call our selves the Silent Scrappers, because other crafters we know always blabber about on bigger crops, and we get to enjoy what stories they are telling without being noticed. Sometimes that is 🙂

I so understand your craving for the ME time late at night – what’s the saying: “we can sleep when we’re old” – luckily we are all so young still ;O)
Have fun and enjoy your precious family.

Congrats on Connar. I hope you find time for you and get sleep, too. Scrapping helps me when I am stressed, everyone needs a creative outlet. Take Care, Jess

31 July, 2007 at 4:57 amYou got we thinking about your kits? How will QVC kits differ from Club Heidi. I love the new one, but I don’t use that much pink.
I would love to see a blue and brown kit-my favorite color combo.Your layouts and products ROCK:) Jess

31 July, 2007 at 6:26 amI read your blog all the time, but have never posted. I love the pages you did for Cooper, and I think they have actually inspired me to FINALLY get back to my scrap area and to begin my own son’s first scrapbook. He is already 7 months! I would love to try your journal spot stamps as I always have trouble figuring out where and how to journal. It looks like there are lines in the circle journal spots you used on these pages, but the stamps I find to buy online don’t seem to have lines. Am I seeing things? Can you clear this up for me? I would really like to have the lines!
Thanks and Congrats again on a gorgeous family!

31 July, 2007 at 10:55 amCongrats!…too, too cute layouts of Conner. I agree with the late night scrapbooking (I don’t even have children at home). The night seems to engage my creative side and I can get so much more done. Heidi you are such an inspiration, and such an amasing person to be able to keep it all together. Take care…anxious for the next QVC show.

31 July, 2007 at 1:51 pmHeidi! Congratulations on that sweet baby boy! I don’t know if I would be able to scrapbook a boy either, since I only have a girl! Cute pages though!
I also LOVE scrapbooking when my family has gone to bed and everything is quiet! I do my best work then! I’ll be watch on the 14th!
If you love these journaling spots (not sure if they are Heidi Swapp or someone elses), you should totally check out Close To My Heart’s! They have Frame of Mind ($22.95) and Journaling Jots ($13.95) and I love both! I use them all the time! Just the perfect amount of space to say a few words, but not too much!

31 July, 2007 at 6:45 pmThese don’t look out of practice to me-so sweet. Your boy scrapbook pages ae what first drew me to you and your product line. Can’t wait for your journalling stamps. I love them, but think the stamps would be even better. BTW, I have trouble getting the spot to stick to the paper. Have you had others say that? Miss “hearing” you in AY2R class. This summer has been crazy. As you know all too well! 🙂
