back to school with storyline chapters
Welcome back to the Heidi Swapp blog. Being a kindergarten teacher one of the things I love at the beginning of the year or the beginning of the term is decorating my room to what ever theme we are learning about. This term we are studying the Rainforest so I decorated my classroom entry way to reflect this theme. I wanted to record my classroom decor and what better way than to add it into my Storyline Chapters insert. I combined this with the Carefree collection and I love the way my layout came out. Let me share some secrets behind my page.
I started with one of the Storyline Chapters Scrapbook Inserts and that stunning yellow pattern paper from the Carefree Storyline Chapters paper pad. I trimmed an inch from the top and the side and then used my corner on the corners. I then sanded the edges of the pattern paper.
I then ran the pattern paper through my typewriter to add my journaling before adhering it to the page. I grabbed one of the Art Walk embossed tags, tore the edge and inked the embossed part and then added a sticker from the 12 x 12 Project pad and adhered it next to the journaling.
I added some stickers from the Project pad to complete my page.
On the right side I adhered my photo in a grid design and then added some of the stickers from the Project pad to the bottom right part of the design. I overlapped them to create a cohesive design.
I used the Minc leaf stamp to create a leaf design on some white cardstock and used a large hole punch to punch it out. I layered it over another punched circle from the Project pad.
I adore the colours and designs in the Carefree collection they coordinate so beautifully and you can find it at JoAnn stores now!
