binderie in bloom
7 Gypsies has been a tremendous source of inspiration and amazing products since the very beginning… and they continue to amaze and delight! Just a week or 2 ago, Deb contacted me and asked me if I wanted a “Binderie”… of course I only saw one in real life at preview day, and I was immediately creating class projects in my mind that would use this cool toy! Well, there was a catch: I had to decorate it.. make it my own! I agreed mostly not thinking about how I would decorate it, but more because I wanted one! (smile)… it arrived and I had NO CLUE what I’d do to it… as I was cleaning up my studio I found this gorgeous painting that I had in a box of ‘china ephemera’. Anyway, I wondered if I could make this work. It’s painted on this really fragile rice paper, but it’s gorgeous. I wound up decoupageing it onto the Binderie! I LOVE how it turned out!!
so i am working on a little project using my Binderie!- you can pick one up HERE. (i have been playing with THIS and THIS, oh, and THIS) that i will HOPEFULLY be showing off before i board the plane for RANGER U tomororw… i am sorry, but i am sooo dang excited to go!! i can't stand it. i need to dig out an apron from a box somewhere…

4 June, 2009 at 2:18 amThat is really beautiful.
I’ve been following your work for quite a few years now, and I have to say that you’re well of creativity and inspiration just doesn’t run dry… 🙂 Thank you for sharing your discoveries and really — I don’t think you realize this — but you actually share enthusiasm. Six years ago, I bought Designing with Notions on impulse, and I nearly fell over with what was inside. I felt the same way when I scrolled down over the Binderie. You know what? I don’t even know what that is…but it is so beautiful, that it motivates me to re-open the Paper Arts Door :-). Thank you for that. Thank you for all of it — and for sharing here.
