bonjour- let’s scrap!
Recently I took a trip the US to catch up with Heidi and my media team team mate Jamie Pate. I spent 10 glorious days with them both and you will for sure be seeing many projects in the near future with my photos from my trip. On my last night with Heidi we spent a few hours in her scrap studio crafting together. What a treat it was to sit with her, rummage through her drawers of goodies and play and craft as we chatted. I shared this photo of us together on Instagram that night. It certainly was a trip highlight for me. We had been to Walgreens that morning to print off our photos from my trip so I set out to create a layout using her goodies and two of my favourite photos.
When I first arrived at Heidi’s home I was greeted with these beautiful Spring Daffodils in the room where I was staying. It certainly made me feel welcome. The guest room was simply beautiful with pops of teal, hot pink mind with the black and white. I couldn’t help but feel happy in this room so I wanted to create a layout to celebrate my feelings.
I began with this beautiful floral pattern paper from the Spring Marquee collection paper pad. Now this paper pad is 8 x 8 and I wanted it to fill my 12 inch page, so I simply trimmed the pattern paper in half , pieced it together and then adhered into my page. I laid my photo over the join and you would never know the paper wasn’t a 12 inch piece. I teamed the floral with that black and white stripe pattern paper from the original Marquee Love paper pad. I added the word Simply as my title with one of the glitter wood veneer words from the Sticker collection. I have also used some of the brand new Stickers from the Sticker booklets…Do you spy that houndstooth sticker at the top right? One of the fun new shapes from the Black and White sticker booklet.
Next I set about embellishing my page, here is where the fun began as I got to open all of Heidi’s desk drawers, jars and shelves holding her product. It was fun revisiting older product and teaming it with the new. I grabbed one of the Instax frames from the sticker collection and trimmed one of the Memory planner Foil pocket cards to fit underneath. I added the teal bow also from the Sticker collection and then attached the frame with some of the floral washi from the Spring Marquee.
The epoxy Bonjour came from Heidi’s Prismatic Project Life kit and I teamed it with some of the sheer word stickers again from the sticker collection. To add depth but not bulk I layered some of Heidi’s 2 inch washi tapes from the Washi Tape boxes as final finishing touches.
This layout will always hold special memories for me as it was created with Heidi in her studio. I can’t wait to share more of my amazing photos from my journey with you all, thank you for stopping by today.
