cause for celebration!

cause for celebration!

what a slacker i have been! but i am HAPPY to report… all of our artwork for CHAsummer2006 is TURNED IN…and RIGHT on time. deadline met… frankly.. that is not normal for me!!!!! do you have any idea how cool that is? well, it’s cause for celebration! even more cause for celebration is that after 2 weeks… eric is home from being in china for work.. and 2 weeks is too long! so we are all thrilled to have him home… we get the big 24 hours together before i am heading to edmonton! (to freeze!). so it’s thai food tonight for sure!

ok… so i have to share !

quincy’s crocks came in the mail yesterday!!! now we are twins!! (she is a super star)
Qcrocks

this is my dog ‘blackie’… colton named him when he was 2. it’s a really original name, i know…
but he has been limping around since yesterday afternoon, and i can’t figure out what is wrong with his foot… i don’t ever take photos of him cause he usually doesn’t show up (cause he’s black) and i think he is afriad of my camera… he can’t figure out what i am putting on my face!! it was so sad last night cause he couldn’t jump up on my bed. he sleeps at my feet… i had to lift him up.. and he’s heavy! poor dog… i think the limping is getting better… he HATES the vet…

…everyone has a favorite holiday. you know how i feel about christmas…(although the pink forest did wonders for me this year) … my favorite holiday is easter. i think that it stems from my childhood… my grandma and grandpa k would put on pretty elaborate easter egg hunts for the grandchildren! i got pretty new clothes and i LOVEd to dye easter eggs.  as i have gotten older, i have found that easter CANDY is among my favorite as well! in particular:  candy coated HERSHEY’s eggs. in the most beautiful colors… anyway, i was at target on valentines and found 2 easter end caps of plates, cups, bowls etc… and i fell in love. i went all out and got a new (well, the only table cloth i own) tablecloth, napkins, plates, cups, bowls etc… so beautiful! i am for sure going to have to throw a party. unfortunately, i am still in search of a few more lg. plates… and i am on the look out for choc. brown placemats.
Easterplates

i had family over for dinner on sunday night and realized that EVERY PLATE i own has a chip out of it. i didnt’ have enough matching glasses and not enough forks to serve 8.  it truly inspired me to BUY SOME NEW STUFF. and c’mon the plates you see here were 2.99$ each. the glasses are really plastic. but SO cute. and i will tell you … pink does NOT match my kitchen… but it matches ME!!  so that is good enough!  what a great reason to celebrate SOMETHING !

We share the same kitchen decorating philosophy…. I have a cabinet full of pink dishes and stuff but not a pink kitchen! But I do dream about the pink Kitchen Aid Mixer…my husband is like whay not buy white so it will match, and I literally said “It won’t match ME!”
Anyway, thanks for being so inspiring all the time. I love, love, love all you do. You’re the bee’s knee’s, my friend!

What a lot of news to catch up 😀
Blackie is very cute, my dog tries to sleep at my feet and every night he jumps up on the bed, but if I move my feet even a tiny bit, he gets grumpy and jumps off and sleeps under the bed. Then he strangely appears curled up at my feet every morning!
Love love love the pink dishes, wish I could justify changing all mine, but there’s nothing wrong with it (apart from the fact that it’s not pink of course)! LOL

About the name Blackie—when I was in college in the early ’70’s, I took a greek classics class and the prof was telling us about the Linnear E alphabet. Only a bit of it had been translated at that time, but the bit that had been was a farmer’s inventory of his cows…..two names: Blackie and Buttercup!!! And this is some 1000 years before Christ…..I was charmed–how lovely, some things con’t change!!

Seen those same plates the other night and I wanted to get them. Dh said, “Nope, they don’t match and you have to have everything matching, remember?” Ugh, why does he have to be such a smarty pants.

My dog is so afraid of the camera. I can never get any good pictures of her, which is a shame because she does very cute things.
My husband laughed at me the other day because I bought a pink plate at Wal-mart, just because I wanted a pink plate.

Is Blackie a Cocker Spaniel??? If so, how old?
You may want to get his foot/leg checked out. My mom has a Cocker (our family dog since I was little – his name is Buffett) and he blew out his knee. The vet said its very common in Cockers. What you’re describing sounds like the early symptoms of how Buffers was. 🙁

Seems to me that Quincy LOVES here crocs! Sydnie got hot pink AND lime green crocs for Christmas! Now, everytime we go out, Hayley (15-months) has to grab whatever pair Sydnie is NOT wearing. Needless to say, even the child size crocs are still too big for Hayley!
Love the new dishes! Though, my husband would freak if I bought pink dishes. He has to draw the line somewhere! Ha!

How cute is your little girl in those crocs! I love how little girls just love to strut their stuff.
Well girl you sure picked a yucky weekend to be in Edmonton. This is like the only crazy cold we’ve seen all winter. I am so jealous my best friend Haley is taking your class tomorrow and i so wish i was there. don’t suppose your gonna be at cku-provo are you???

That’s is what I love about you; you are all about the pink!
I want to get some crocs but I have to go to Edmonton for them. Have to wait I guess, bummer! Quincy looks fab all dressed in pink and looking like life is all about here. You go girl!!
We just said goodbye to our dog 2 weeks ago. This weekend we are trialing a new dog but my oldest son isn’t liking it too much. He wants the dog to go back. bummer
Edmonton is coming out of the deep freeze so hopefully you will be okay. You could always go to The Bay and buy some cool 2010 Olympic outerwear. Of course it does say CANADA on it. Hey and there is always Roots! (I have my CKU Vancouver picture CD with you trying on Roots hats).
    Thai! MY FAV!!!

I have to say what a darling little dog! (Quincy’s cute too, of course). But we have a little black cocker spaniel named Daisy and love her so much. We have a blond cocker also…so many great photos of him, but our little black Daisy is so hard to photograph. Know exactly what you mean there.

I just had to comment on the Easter dishes. I love them. I saw them at Target last night and fell in love with them. Our local Target did not have very many of them but I sure did like them. Maybe they will get more in.
I also think that Easter is my favorite holiday. I love the pastel colors associated with it, the feeling of spring, the newness of the world and last but not the reason that Christians celebrate Easter.
I loved reading your post today 🙂

Anyway… glad I was reading your blog when I was…
