Color Fresh Paperline | A “Boy” Layout
When I was told I’d be given free range to create whatever I wanted with Heidi’s new Color Fresh Paperline, the wheels started turning…did I want to use this beautiful new collection in my planner? Or make more cards like I did in THIS post? Maybe I would use it to decorate some pages in my traveler’s notebook.
But then I realized it had been ages since I’d created an actual scrapbook page, so that’s exactly what I decided would be my project for this week!
I immediately began going through my recent photos to see what I could use for a page, and found that most of my photos were of my boys – which, on the surface, is awesome – considering the boys are usually too busy to sit still for photos…and a structured photo shoot for those two? Forget it. But, it also presented a challenge, seeing as this fantastic collection contains a lot of traditionally “girl” colors and designs.
I do, however, love a challenge.
So, I set to work to create my “boy” page.
I found the photo I wanted to scrap, and printed it out.
Then I pulled out the entire Color Fresh Paperline collection and started going through each piece, pulling out those things I thought would work best on my page.
I LOVE the Fine Line patterned paper…but the rainbow stripes on the bottom of the page weren’t really the look I was going for.
So, I cut a piece of Tickled Pink paper in half, and covered up the colorful stripes.
I sorted through the Ephemera pack and chose some of my favorite pieces…and then I did the same with the Sticker Book…keeping in mind that I wanted each piece to fit with my “boy” theme.
Then, I added a little cluster of stamps to the left of my photo.
Finally, I typed up my journaling on some white cardstock, trimmed it down, and adhered it in between the lines on my background paper.
I love the way my layout turned out…definitely decidedly “boyish.”
Thank you so much for taking a look!
I hope I’ve inspired you to challenge yourself in your creating today…
