Mini albums are these sweet hand held books of photo + words + memory and emotion all wrapped up in paper and embellishments and ribbon. And most importantly, love.
Isn’t that why we memory keepers do what we do? Love?
There is an emotion that comes from a place within us. This emotion then fuels a wild happiness for beautiful paper. For the newest embellishments. And for the time to craft something special.
This love is tangible. Found in all our many scrapbook albums, cards, mini albums tucked away here and there in our crafting spaces. This love is our words on a page written to ourselves, or to another. Because while we are in the creative vibe and the paper and stamps are flying all around us as we harridly respond to that creative idea before we forget it, a meditative practice comes from being in the zone. And that in itself is a thing to love.
And this is what I hope to inspire you with today. The love of crafting. The love of story. The love of how we can literally bundle all of those effects into one little place. A mini album. Gosh I love this hobby!!!
With all the love and energy I took to crafting a mini album of sorts.
It’s actually a tag album.
Yeah. I know. You remember this post HERE? This was a much loved album.
And so the vibe continues and I am just going with it. Another tag album…with a twist.
This album is housed, or maybe rather, protected, inside a diy-cover.
If you print at home, you know that white cardboard that comes with the photo paper package? Yeah. Great book board. Just sayin’.
The cover was wrapped with patterns from Color Fresh Paperline.
A pocket was crafted for the inside, well. Cause I like pockets and there are a few more in this mini. Hang on. I’ll show you.
The little book opens up to the Color Fresh Good Vibes Specialty Paper. The transparency comes as a 12×12 sheet. I trimmed it down to show off the gold foil of the Good Vibes. As that is what this mini album is all about.
One of the stars of the show here is the new 12×12 Minc Reactive Paper. Included in that fabulous pad are vellum sheets that can be foiled. Or glittered. The new Glitter Sheet in pink is what I chose throughout the tag album to add a pop of glam. The tiny hearts made for a beautiful and subtle addition to the layers here.
The rest of the book is crafted of tags that are mini layouts to the photos celebrated here. Little Minc touches are added in here and there. The journal tag on this page was given a line of glue from the Glue Pen. After it was tacky I layered the Pink Glitter Sheet over the glue for an additional touch of glam.
The next tag includes a pocket. The pocket was made from the Vellum Reactive Paper from earlier. It was sewn onto the tag with WeRMemoryKeepers Metallic Gold Thread. That pink glitter and the metallic gold thread are some of my favorite touches in this tag album.
On this page a lot of layers were added in as well as Color Fresh Ephemera and stickers from the Sticker Book. OK. Wait. You MUST get that sticker book. It is all kinds of fabulous. And you will want to hoard. But I beg you not to.
The Minc Glue Pen and Pink Glitter Sheets were brought out again to edge the paper. This just gave my page a connection to the rest of the book with that Pink Glitter. As well as come additional texture and interest.
The fourth tag includes a pocket for the photo. I used the WeRMemoryKeepers Pocket Punch Board to craft that cutey little holder of the photo.
I took the liberty to enhance the photo with Ephemera and bakers twine. Bakers twine for the win, I say.
The last four tags follow the sketch of the previous four. The are each just embellished a little different. Take a look:
That is how this covered tag book came together.
