Color Fresh Paperline | It’s Party Time!
I gotta tell ya…I’m about done with winter.
I feel this way about this time every year…but this year the feeling is especially strong.
It’s just too dang cold…and I’m tired of waiting for the temperature to rise.
I decided that if I couldn’t make it warmer outside, I’d have to bring summer inside.
So I created this Letterboard…filled with some distinctively summer vibes…
Doesn’t this board – with all of the Color Fresh colors & designs – just scream summer fun???
I love decorating for special occasions with my Letterboard…and I love how adding some of my favorite paper designs & ephemera pieces from the collection really make the board stand out.
To create my customized letters, I started by choosing some designs from the 6×6 Paper Pad.
I tried to stick to the patterns with smaller, more dense motifs, so that the design would show up on each letter.
I took my Letterboard letters (I chose the 2″ Sans Serif letters because they are my favorite & I thought they would be the easiest to use), turned them over and traced them onto the back of each of my patterned papers.
I cut out my traced letters using scissors at first, and then a craft knife to get the smaller details – and then I adhered each paper letter to its plastic counterpart with a tape runner.
ACK! Don’t they look so cool?!
Then I decided to create a banner for the top of my board using some of the ephemera pieces from the collection.
I initially wanted to sew my pieces together and hang them from the board, but I decided against that…I thought that by just adhering each piece with a small amount of tape or pop dot I could remove each piece and use it again in a different project.
We’re having some friends over in a couple of weeks for an appetizer party, and I think this will be the perfect countertop decoration!
Maybe I’ll even design the menu to revolve around our favorite summertime foods!
