Our last few weeks have been filled with birthday & dinner parties, anniversaries & special occasions – countless opportunities for card-giving…with no end in sight.
And, I gotta tell ya, more times than I like to admit, I’ve been great about the gift-buying…but not about the card-making. I always think I’ll have tons of time to make a beautiful, sentimental, hand-made card, and then BOOM!
The big day arrives and I’m just minutes from leaving the house and…no card.
I usually end up just grabbing a card blank and scribbling something on it super quick, stuffing it into an envelope and then sheepishly handing it over to the recipient, or placing it on the gift table inconspicuously.
Please tell me I’m not the only one.
So, over the weekend I decided to prep a few cards ahead of time.
I grabbed a few pieces from Heidi’s new Color Fresh Paperline – arriving in online & independent stores now – and then challenged myself to bust as many cards as I could in 30 minutes.
Here are the supplies I used…
…the brand new – AND COMPLETELY AWESOME – Color Fresh Paperline Sticker Book…
…and boxed note cards.
I also grabbed the Color Fresh Paperline 12×12 & 6×6 paper pads & the WeR Memory Keepers 1-2-3 Punch Board.
My goal was to keep things extra simple…to create a few beautiful cards without too much fuss…and I think I accomplished just that.
Here’s my first set…
For this card, I used a 5×7 note card base. I added some of this ADORABLE Hear Me Roar paper (I mean, really…gah…these babies!), trimmed just slightly smaller than the base, and then added two stickers from the Sticker Book.
The rainbow striped envelope looks so great with the patterns in the card!
Next up is this striped beauty.
The “hello, sweetheart” sticker is from the Sticker Book & the pink flower is from the ephemera pack.
After adding some Tickled Pink paper to the top of this 5×7 card blank, I simply added the “time to HAVE FUN” card & the pink flower – both from the ephemera pack – to the front.
The yellow envelope – created with the Noted paper design – looks so great with the green, don’t you think?
Honestly…custom envelopes really just make a card stand out – and they are so easy to create!
After finishing with my first cards, I decided to embellish some of Heidi’s pre-made note cards.
With the simple addition of the “my favorite” gold-foiled heart, this blank card goes from one-of-a-bunch, to one-of-a-kind!
And, because these note cards come with their own envelopes, I decided to add my own envelope liner to make this set stand out.
This pre-designed card got a little makeover with the edition of the “just have fun” acrylic sentiment – again from the ephemera pack – (I just stapled it on), and a piece of pink/red polka dotted patterned paper from the 6×6 paper pad adhered to the bottom.
The cheetah-print Wild Side paper (also from the 6×6 paper pad) makes the cutest liner for this card’s envelope.
Mission accomplished…5 cards in 30 minutes!
The new Color Fresh Paperline is packed with gorgeous colors & beautiful, on-trend designs…perfect for scrapbooking, planning, and even quick-as-a-flash card-making!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
I hope I’ve inspired you to create some quick cards for your next special occasion…
