so i still haven’t seen it in real life.
these are my aunts.. they actually took these photos the first time the kit was available during the testing period… see… a long time ago, i think it was march, costco agreed to ‘test’ this kit. so it shipped to 8 costcos that were totally random. they wouldn’t tell us where, when or anything, cause we weren’t supposed to talk about it or anything, so that we couldn’t interfere wtih the test… so i guess we passed the test with flying colors! and so costco decided to ‘roll out’ the kit to all stores. i am guessing that they just started hitting stores last week!

so it’s a pretty cool kit… lots of stuff in it! good stuff, the kind of stuff that you just use and use and use…so it’s a great ‘supply’ to have. for only $29bucks i think it’s a great deal too!
i have to admit, that i think that the coolest part of the whole thing is the big pick box that they come in. it’s a seriously heavy duty box! it’s awesome… great color… so i was laughing when my aunt took this photo of her taking the BOX! totally something i would do… if i were to go to costco… can’t you just see our camping equipment and sand toys stored in these boxes stacked in the garage!? i love it…
anyway… eric just called me from costco where he was picking up ribs for dinner, and asked if i needed a heidi swapp embellishment collection… so i guess i will see it in real life in just a bit!
pretty cool, i must say!

I just found out that the Costco 30 minutes away (via the interstate) has these babies. I told my Hubby that I was going there after I dropped him off to the gym and he said I wouldn’t make it. HAH! I was back with 10 minutes to spare! I ran in, grabbed those babies, paid and left! BUT I ended up giving them to my Mom for her birthday (by the way, she absolutely loved them–they’re her first Heidi Swapp stuff). So tomorrow, I am sneaking off of to that Costco again and this time, I’m grabbing more! Can I just say THANK YOU?!!! Your stuff are the best! If I had a revolving supply of your chipboard letters in every color, I’d be happy! LOL

I had to run to my Costco today for it – and they didn’t have it, but one about 25 minutes away did (I’m in MD). Anyway I drove down & got it & just finished opening it. I felt the way I’m sure kids do – you know when they get a cool new toy with a ton of pieces that are held together with all those gazillion hard to get ties. The plastic is so hard to cut & each time I got a compartment opened I was like – WHOO HOOO!!! Thinking the whole time – grrrrr It was a scrapbooker’s husband who designed this packaging, laughing the whole time imagining his wife using every tool possible to get the d*Mn thing open!!! We were actually more taken with the pink boxes.

None in Richmond, VA, my sister checked…

I got mine last night and I love it! BUT, I DID have a really hard time getting into that packaging. I guess my scissors weren’t that great, but getting into each compartment put me in a little celebration. I felt like wonder woman prying apart iron bars trying to get into that thing! And now it is all nicely put into zip lock bags. I added up from Heidi’s catalog on her web site that it would cost about $65 to buy each of those pieces individually! So, I guess the work getting into the kit was worth the savings!

I got mine yesterday I was so happy when I called the Costco by my work and they had them. I rushed over there during lunch and grabbed one. Found them right away in the office supply section, the girl who answered the phone said they had 124 of them but when I grabbed mine there were only two full boxes out. The cashier said “how cute” and then as I was exiting the store the girl who checks off the receipts also said “that is so cute”… don’t these people work there;) So I am happy now. Hope Costco carries more Heidi. Thanks Heidi and congratulations on such great products! If anyone in Orange County California is looking for one I found mine in Garden Grove, CA costco don’t know if any others around here carry them but it’s as easy as a phone call to find out, the picture on the blog with the price has their product number on it, just give them that and they should be able to look it up.

Jolene George is my hero! She posted earlier about driving a million miles to North Mesa to get us your kits, and we love her for it. (She paid me to say that). Anyhow, I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything in it, but the packaging about killed me to open. I got a few scrapes from it, and I didn’t do it all at once because it was such stinkin’ hard work. LOL!!! I might have to go to Costco for another one though…. hmmmmmmm!

Heidi, I went out and bought it, but whoever decided on the packaging should be smacked, it was like Ft. Knox, and I cut myself several times on the plastic used on the packaging just to get the product out… I love your stuff, Heidi, but the packaging needs a redo!

Heidi, I found out about your kit through the CKU Houston Yahoo group at 7:20pm this evening. Called my best girlfriend and told her not to move, I’d be picking her up in 10 minutes. Kissed my husband good-by and flew out the door. (Note: Costco closes at 8:30pm!) Thirty miles later (at 8:15pm), we arrived at Costco. We swooped in and grabbed 8 kits. (One for each of us and one for each of the other 6 gals in our circle journal group.) Let the thrill of the hunt NEVER be underestimated! I now sit here pondering the following…It’s so pretty, should I open it? What a shame to destroy such a lovely arrangement. But, I really need to use the products inside on a current project. And finally, just how do I “attack” the plastic packaging without becoming injured! Oh…the perils of the Scrapbook Jungle!

Hi, congrats! I am in Lacey, WA, (60 miles So. of Seattle) and we just had the “grand opening” of our new Costco last week. I walked in so excited about everything, and thought I just I was seeing things when I saw your display! Couldn’t get it tho’- moving and have no room for storing, but will definately have to check it out later, great price!
BTW, I bought some of your chip board packets at Target back in December for .80!!! I don’t know why they were on clearance, but you can best believe I bought EVERY LAST ONE! πŸ˜‰

I sent a coworker with a costco membership to pick it up for me and she brought it to work yesterday. I was so excited. I tore right into that plastic packaging last night and got everything put away. I HATE that kind of plastick packaging, BTW. But it kept everything so nice; I guess there’s no other way!
Congrats on this awesome marketing event for you and your products!

I ran out TODAY and picked it up!! Didn’t tell the hubby why we were going out to Costco late Saturday (such a madhouse) just to “pick up a few things”. I was scanning the aisles and then I saw it–the pink boxes–and ran down the aisle. I told my hubby “look what I found”. He looked at me suspiciously and said “you saw that all the way down from the center aisle?” LOL!!

What about the independant scrapbook stores that buy all your stuff to carry- now making it harder for them to sell it! I know a store that just purchased near $10,000 retail of your product at this past CHA- I think that is simply unfair to them ALL!! You should think twice about things like this before jumping in! If this scrapbook store was smart they would cancel this order before it comes!

While I agree strongly with both Lissa and Tera, the costco kit is old products that problaby sat at Advantus too long. Any LLS would have had that raw album, tape and other “embellishment” a long time ago. Nothing new in this kit, just re-packaged so that you buy all of it! Go Girlz.

Oh my gosh!!! I just have to tell you that I visited my LSS in lexington on monday and she’s droping the entire line!!! Everything was on sale. She said that she’s making room for other lines. I wonder if it’s related to this.

From a retailer’s perspective, I wish that we could also carry the kits but understand the buying power of companies such as costco. As far as I’m concerned, I’m happy that more people will get exposed to Heidi’s beautiful products. Perhaps that would drive more business to any lss for all of her other products. Get your kits at costco- they’re a great value!!

This is all older stuff in the kit. I ran to get it and love it but that is silly I support my LSS I support all methods that support my “scrapping habits” This is “not” going to ruin any LSS it is just 1 kit. Just have fun enjoy it!

Hi Heidi! Just wanted to drop a note to tell you how much I LOVE this kit! I ended up in Jacksonville, FL on business and wondered if the local Costco had this. (I hadn’t had time to stop and pick one up since they came out.) They had them in stock, so I grabbed one, found a lss to pickup some glue and scissors and ba-da-bing! I now have the cutest little album – scrapped in a hotel room after work. I may have to put together a “traveling” scrapbook supply kit and take it each time I’m on the road. It was the perfect way to spend my time!!
Thanks for such a GREAT kit!
P.S. Can I just add that opening the darn thing was a struggle – but worth it. πŸ˜‰

Howdy Heidi, it was a big surprise to see our pictures on your blog. I’ve never been on a blog before. I love my kit and my big pink box. Just saw there were only 4 boxes left at the SLC Costco on 2100 S. They are selling like hotcakes. I took one kit out, casually left it over on the books where some lucky lady would snatch it up and buy it. Just spreading your cool product around a bit. This blog is quite a promotion for Costco. You sure have a great fan base. Can hardly wait to hear who your new little baby is. Enjoy the miracle of giving birth. Love, Aunt KJ

You might NEVER see this with all the remarks you have here -but still wanted to share that I am a scrapper in Denmark and just bought your embellishment kit in a Costco in Scotland. Sadly we don’t see stuff like that in supermarkets here and the number of scrapshops are still limited here but it is a growing market – and my local shop is great http://www.scrapshop.dk.
Saw your lovely materials once before – last year in Holland at the Scrap-a-Ganza.
Keep up the good work – and best of luck with you next baby.
