Craft Room Marquee
Earlier in the week I revealed my craft room and office makeover. Thank you so much for the wonderful response to it! There is nothing like having an dream come to life!
When standing from the top of the stairs of the living room the first thing you can see is the top of this slanted wall. In my original plan I wanted another shelf up there and my dear husband came up with this better solution (because thinking of his wife on a ladder getting photo props up and down every week didn’t seem practical). Yeah, he’s pretty level headed. Ha!
I wanted to keep the letters white to match the room, so this marquee DIY was the easiest one I have done yet! There was no need to string the battery pack in the back because I was not going to have mine lit. Since these letters are run each on batteries I wouldn’t be turning them on and off everyday. So, I saved the light strands for when it would be time to take them down and use them for something else later.
Hanging them is easy! I used Command Hooks and a level to keep them straight.
The Wall Art words are so easy to make your own! I love putting a quick coat of DecoArt Dazzling Metallics Paint on it! In only one coat it looks brilliant. My favorite colors are the Gold and Brass! It dries quickly and I hang it the same way I hang the marquee letters. Both are very light weight and hang with the clear small hooks.
You can find both the Wall Art and Marquee letters in Michaels stores. Wall Art is in the seasonal unfinished wood section of the store and the marquee is with the Heidi Swapp Gallery Wall collection in the paper crafting section down the stamping aisle! Or you can find both online here.
