create a 'beautiful' layout with fussy cut layers
Today with the help of Renata… I wanted to share a quick and FABULOUS secret you might not know about the Sugar Chic “beautiful” paper… in addition to a ‘beautiful’ (ha) sheet of paper… it’s also a whole set of embellishments just waiting to be released from it’s paper prison!
The proper word for it is ‘fussy cutting’—but these huge flowers are pretty easy to get around with a small pair of scissors. While the detail is great in the printing, their shapes are very simple- which makes them super easy to cut out. You can cut them out so 2-3 are still attached in a cluster, or you can cut them out individually. Once they are free… they make such lovely layering pieces, and beautiful little details peeking out from behind photos or even center stage on a card! Add some inking, and some foam dots behind, and you have a gorgeous embellishment!
Renanta shows this technique so well on this layout about her and her little one playing… it’s all about layering, and she has started off with the cut flowers and then added soft look of the torn paper.
I love the touch of vellum that softens the look of the layers behind the photo.
More lush layers of banner delights, mixed with additional die cut strips, and the word “together” was cut from a photo caption…looks great solo! Big cyber HUG and thanks to Renata for creating this GORGEOUS Sugar Chic page for me to share!
