Creating Big Thanks with Big Tags | Heidi Swapp Storyline Chapters
scrapbook collections not just for story telling
One of my favorite things to do is to take a collection, like Heidi Swapp’s Storyline Chapters, and transfer scrapbooking ideas to a big tag. This tag in particular? A thank you tag.
Taking the idea found in a tag class Heidi taught last year (you can find more details for that HERE), I was inspired to take that tag idea a bit farther.
And of course, using just the right sentiments I was able to add all these layers and smaller tags to make a big impact ‘Thanks’ for a friend.
Not only did I create pockets on this card tag as taught in that class, but I crafted the pockets to have a fold so that they could open up.
See above? That first striped pocket opens up to the left side. That provides many things to the receiver. More interest for sure. Additional interaction as the whole entire pocket opens up. And then more surface for you, me, the creators of such a fun card tag idea, to add stamps and stickers, or whatever the imagination can think of to add to the opened pocket.
Inside the next pocket is a 3×4 journal piece that I wrapped the stamped ‘thanks’ onto. That stamp is part of the Heidi Swapp Minc Stamp collection. But stamps are stamps. And I use those all the time on all kinds of projects.
But wait…there’s more…
The vellum pocket opens up to the right for an additional interactiveness. Yep. It’s a word. Just made it up.
You can see above how both pockets are now opened up creating a unique tag card experience for the receiver. Don’t you just love when the recipient oooohhhs and aaaahhhs something you gave them. You know that makes you beam with pride.
Several tags were created for these pockets to hold. Which was half the fun: just making tags, both paper and clear paper, and adding Storyline Chapters Stickers and and stamps and washi. Seriously fun card to make.
I mean, we makers love to make anyway, right? Well, we might as well up the experience and craft bigger and better for giving away. So think outside the card. Add pockets. Add hinged pockets. Create tags to your hearts content. Create goodness for the wonderfulness that it is. And then share that with a Big Thanks to someone who could hear from you.
