CUSTOM CARD DIY: ART WALK MEETS BAZZILL
Creating handmade cards is what is up today, and I am so excited to share a little fun collab I had using some of my favourite products from JoAnn.
Right now they have these awesome coordinating blank card sets from Bazzill. In all the colours, styles and literally something for everyone they make the perfect bases for all your creative ideas when it comes to hand making cards.
One feature that I love with these card sets specifically is that in one set, they offer a complimentary color range so it works so well when creating coordinating cards to make and send out. The card stock is sturdy and high quality, which makes embellishing them and customizing them a joy to work with.
I was inspired to take these cards one step further and collab them with my favourite pieces from the Heidi Swapp Art Walk collection that is also available at JoAnn.
More specifically I wanted to incorporate these gorgeous white tags.
They are so fun to incorporate on any project really, but work exceptionally well on cards I must admit.
To begin, I wanted to add a bit of color splash to the tags since they are all white.
I whipped out my water-colours and simply started adding some beautiful water-colour wash on top of them. Splatters and splotches and beautiful drips. I love how water colour truly takes on a life of its own. I do not play with water colours a lot however after this project that may have all just changed for me. It was really a lot of fun and super relaxing and inspiring to do.
They took no time at all to dry, so once complete I was ready to compile my cards.
I used my favourite Art Walk elements to bring my cards to life. Layering the water-colour tags with alpha stickers from the Art Walk Paper Pad, mixed in with washi and additional stickers and pattern paper was so much fun to do. I loved adding in some machine stitching and staple details too. Truly this was such a fun project to design. Isn’t it amazing how different the white tags can be with some soft water colour and stamping? It truly is a testament to not being afraid to experiment and play…you just never know how things are going to transform in the best ways!
I hope you enjoyed this little card collab and are willing to try out some of these ideas for yourself. Everything I shared here is available right now at JoAnn Stores and JoAnn online.
Happiest Friday friends.
