December Countdown Album Finished Pages Pt.2
Welcome to Part 2 of December Countdown Album Finished Pages.
You may remember in this post HERE I introduced you to pages I am adding to the Winter Wonderland December Album. I have had such a beautiful time adding to this album. These stories mean so much to me. Especially if they are a look at last year’s Christmas. It’s been a great time crafting these pages and writing these stories.
Here is how the book finished out:
Day 22 is a page and a half spread. I love this story of belonging. I stole the Color Fresh Puffy Words to use right along side the vibe of the Winter Wonderland Collection. The two play so nice together.
For the main focus of Day 22 I cut a hexagon shape to create an interactive flap to the page. After covering the Album page with the red Merry Christmas paper, I then adhered the flap to the center of the page. The photo of my kids and our annual visitor was cut to size and placed inside, along with the story typed on my computer on the above flap. I cut a couple of the wreaths from the Stamp and Die set. This serves to hold down the flap of the hexagon shape. How I love when an idea comes together!
The next page is a story of all the last minute wrapping. Do you ever do that? Our family room was simply covered in my friend’s paper and tissue and boxes and bags. It was a hoot!!! For this page I again covered the album page with Winter Wonderland Pattern Paper. I used a photo booth template from my digital stash. You may recall I used that before in THIS album. I love using templates when I want more than a single photo on a page.
Hidden journaling is found on the back of the cut-away cardinal card. I attached Cardstock Stickers, a heart from the Puffy Stickers, plus I stamped little tag that serves as a pull-out for the journal card.
Hexagons in place again. This time I cut several photos to hex shape. These stories are not very connected. But as a whole they tell the story of everyone home and doing ‘stuff’ around here. So I thought the photos needed to be very accessible, but a bit hidden.
Once the photos were printed and trimmed to hexagon shape, I then added pattern paper using the photo to trim the shape, leaving a flap so I could adhere it to the back. Now each hex has it’s own photo to open plus a little phrase of explanation. Love how this page turned out so much.
Hexagons are at play again for this baking story. As well as a photo that I printed to about 7 1/2 x 7 1/2-inches so it could fill the whole page of the album.
Using spray adhesive, I sprayed the back of the vellum Be Merry and Bright from the Ephemera pack. Then I adhered it right to the photo. It makes a beautiful impact.
This page is just as simple as it could be. You need those, you know, when crafting December Albums. This is a story of what was being made around here on Christmas Eve. I trimmed down the photos, well, you guessed it, hexagon shape. And then added in pattern paper in various sizes too. The Christmas was cut from the wood pattern paper with the Stamp and Die Set. Puffy Hearts and Cardstock Word Stickers finish off this story. All I need do now is write and add the story to the page. And tah dah! December Album finished pages.
And this is a wrap for me and my Winter Wonderland December Album posts for this holiday season. I can’t even believe I am saying that. I do hope you were inspired to add to your December Days with photos + stories. And let me just say, this post will be here in this place for some time now…if you don’t get to your pages this month, well January is coming. Don’t feel like you are behind. Enjoy this time. Embrace this season. Be merry and bright. Merry Christmas!!!
