DIY Art Walk Adventure Mini Album
Recently here on the Heidi Swapp blog I posted an Art Walk DIY Mini Album that was focused on friends and answering prompts by way of journal tags through out the album. You can find that post HERE.
My first impression of the Art Walk Paper Line was that of vacation moments, palm tree images, and sunny beach scenes. And that indeed is a vibe that Art Walk carries with it very well. But as you can see with the Friend Mini Album, I changed that up just a bit. Kept the color theme congruent. Stayed with a formula through out the album. And while there were scenes of palm trees in that album, that was not the focus. Just goes to show the versatility of Art Walk.
Today I am taking that idea to the next step. This time by way of an Art Walk Mini Album that is a hike theme.
Our family loves to hike. As soon as the weather permits, we are outside and exploring. This mini album is dedicated to a day trip last summer that meant so much to me. Especially as I go back and review all the photos I took. It was a beautiful day in many regards. I wanted to see if Art Walk would help bring all those vibes back to life for me.
This DIY Mini Album is very interactive. Many of my tried and true techniques are found throughout. Not only that, I was vibing with Heidi quite a bit with tags, and bits, and lots of flaps to open.
One thing I was really aiming to include in this album was plenty of pictures of all the scenic photos I took. With this in mind, I created a mini album within a mini album. This little book is about 4×6-inches in size. It holds photos just about the full size of the page. And it’s just that: just the photo. With maybe a tab on the edge. This was my need to print a bunch of the pictures I took, and find a way to add them into this book. I love how this turned out so much.
Basically each page opens up to another page of journaling and photos underneath.
The verdict is in. Art Walk is a perfect paper line for any summer/spring/vacation/get away kind of story you may be telling. For this story in particular I just stayed with the green and blue and touches of yellow hues. I kept the embellishing simple here and there. And I am super inspired to make another one of these mini albums again for another adventure.
