diy carefree cards
I have never been a traditional card maker but I was flipping through my Carefree 6×8 paper pad recently and these pretty pattern papers were just crying out to be made into some cards. I love the soft muted color scheme and variety of patterns and designs. I decided to make three cards and add them to my small stack of DIY cards ready to hand out as the time arrises.
I love how rich emerald yet muted green and the softer wine colors that combine to create these three cards.
I began this card with the wine colored pattern paper and that fun rainbow pattern paper, I trimmed them both from the Carefree 6×8 paper pad and then used some sand paper to distress the edges. I layered the two and then used some of the other papers from the 6×8 paper pad to create the banner and circle, also distressing the edges. I added that hello sticker from the Carefree Project pad to complete.
For my next card I began with the emerald pattern paper and layered over that soft water color paper also from the 6×8 paper pad. I sanded the edges and then used a large hole punch to punch out the circle. I tied that pretty bow from my stash and then tied on the circle and circle sticker from the Carefree project pad with some gold thread.
For my final card I allied some of the soft muted peach colored papers from the 6×8 project pad. I cut some banners from scraps and then used pop dots to layer those floral stickers from the Carefree project pad. This card took me mere minutes to create. You really can’t argue with that.
I love my cards and love that I now have more in my stash to give away as needed. You can find the Carefree collection at JoAnn stores now.
