Christmastime! The most wonderful time of the year!
I really love every single thing about the holiday season…but most of all I love the gift-giving and the gift-WRAPPING!
I love that you can take what may be an average present and turn it into something so special just by wrapping it up beautifully.
For the second year in a row, Heidi has created an entire collection of holiday items that are just perfect for decorating those packages…and today I’m going to share some of the ways I’ve used the brand new DIY Gift Wrap collection to create tags that will adorn my gifts this Christmas.
I grabbed some of my very favorite pieces from the collection (stamps, ink, paint, paper, ribbon & embellishments) as well as some tag bases and set to work.
For this tag, I started with a pre-made black tag…
Using the foam circle stamp & white paint from the Gift Wrap Collection, I added some dots to my tag…
…easy peasy!
Then, using a 1″ circle template, I added some black circles to my dots with a black pen (to give them a little more visual interest).
I tied a little gold-rimmed tag & wreath (both from the collection) to the top of the tag and this little guy was done!
For this tag I did a little something fun…
First I stamped the little black tree & “merry” to the bottom of my tag…
…then, using a strip from the tree stamp packaging, I dressed up the bottom of my tag a bit.
A little stitching along the bottom, a black pom pom (from the collection) and a little greenery and I have the perfect masculine tag for one of my husband’s gifts.
For this tag, I used a combination of 2 different tags…
Here’s what I started with…all three of these tags are included in the collection.
I adhered the “to/from” tag to the top of the flag tag…
…then I simply adhered (and stitched) small pieces of gold ribbon (from the collection) to the top of the tags.
Finally I layered on a gold-dipped feather. I love how this bright and sparkly tag adds so much to a plainly-wrapped package. So simple, yet so elegant.
We all have those little pieces of paper left over when we’re done wrapping our gifts, right?
For this tag, I simply hand-cut letters out of the scraps and adhered them to a large pre-made tag.
I added a little pen “inline” to add some depth to the letters…and then attached a length of ribbon.
A little stamping with one of Heidi’s new wood block stamps and beautiful green ink make this tag really stand out!
I added a little green ink to the edges of the tags to add some depth…
For this tag, I added a deer stamp (gave him a red nose!) and then just layered a few other tags from the collection underneath.
And for this tag (which really isn’t a tag at all!) I created a layered monogram and added it to my gift bag…along with a pom pom, bell & a ribbon tassel (created with ribbon also from the collection).
This is probably my favorite tag of all. It’s soooo hard to see in this photo, but for this tag I painted the bottom with the copper paint included in the collection. It has such beautiful color and shine.
Then I simply stamped a gold-rimmed tag with “noel” and sewed on a strip of gold sequins. ACK! I just love it!
***I got this strip of sequins by deconstructing the sequin ribbon found in the collection***
And finally, a simple “noel” stamp is just perfect for this black gold-dipped feather tag.
Don’t you just LOVE all of the variations you can get with just a few items? I really love the mix of colors and textures…
Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek! And I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Hopefully you’ll be able to spend some time crafting and getting ready for the holidays…(smile).
