DIY: HOW TO CREATE A JOY JOURNAL
Hello all my sweet crafter friends. And hello Monday.
I am not sure if you are all feeling like me, but I am constantly feeling so forgetful in what day of the week we are in. It is kind of crazy, no?!
Lucky for you all, I definitely know that today is Monday and I am up sharing a very fun and soul-filling project that I hope you will all give a try.
I call it a “JOY JOURNAL”.
Like many of you all, I am trying my best to stay present, mindful and calm in the midst of the present moment.
I decided to create myself this ‘joy journal’ as a means to allow myself to record the things that are bringing me happiness throughout the days. Little random everyday bits of joy. Happy thoughts, silly conversations, funny texts between friends. Cute things my kids are doing. Funny photos I am taking. Just all of it.
I wanted to share this idea with you all in case you would love to do the same. It is such a powerful way to stay uplifted. Plus I just truly believe in the power of art therapy 100%.
All of the supplies I used to create my Joy Journal are now available at JOANN online.
Supply List:
Additional Paper for inside pages ( I used white but you could also use additional papers from the Art Walk Project Pad to fill the inside as well)
Other: Chipboard, Adhesive, Hole Punch, Ribbon, Key Rings, Electronic Die Cutting machine to create stencil for album title
Watch my video tutorial below to see how I created my album, start to finish.
Isn’t the texture paste just amazing? The dimension and shine is just the best and I love using my Minc in this way.
It made for such a beautiful and captivating journal cover.
After my album was created I added some ribbon and a few Art Walk tags to the key ring to embellish. I love that days of the week sticker from the Art Walk 6×12 Sticker Sheet. It goes perfectly with the concept of this album.
I really hope that amidst everything this project brought some JOY into your life today.
Happy crafting sweet friends. 🙂
