DIY Letterboard Made Easy
Hello, hello everyone!
I love having friends over to do a little crafting every now & again…and it’s even more fun around the holidays!
Then I get to decorate the house even more than I usually would…hee hee hee.
This year – well, tomorrow, actually – I’m having a whole bunch of my favorite girls (and their daughters!) over to enjoy some time together while we create a few little simple Christmas crafts.
I really can’t wait…I love this kind of stuff.
I decided to put together a little vignette – one that included the projects we will be working on! – in honor of this special occasion…and that’s what I want to share with you today.
As with most of my decorating lately, this vignette centers around the fantastic Letterboard.
The black-felted Letterboard to be exact…my favorite one.
But, instead of just adding letters to my board this time, I decided to dress it up a bit.
I cut some of these adorable branches and snowflakes from a few of the files Kerri Bradford has available…they were exactly what I was looking for.
Then I glued & glittered them up.
Just perfect.
In order to get my new die-cut decorations to work on my Letterboard, I had to find a way to attach them to the board felt.
I grabbed a few of the smaller Letterboard icons – black ones, of course, so they would be harder to see – added a foam dot & a small piece of paper…
…popped the paper-covered icon in place on my board, and glued my die-cut right on top!
Easy peasy!
Adjustable & temporary (all I need to do is pull the foam dot off of the icon in order to use the icon as-is) and perfect!
The smaller, less heavy snowflakes stuck to the Letterboard with just a gentle pat.
I love that I was able to layer up my diecuts this way.
And they add just the perfect amount of sparkle!
I set my vignette up on the side table in our dining room.
During the party, I will mix in more cake stands…topped with yummy treats.
Heidi’s little paper Christmas village fits in perfectly…and lends even more sparkle to the scene.
A small little battery-powered tealight sits underneath each house…flickering just a bit.
It all just looks so cozy and lovely!
This little embroidery hoop scene is one of the projects we will be making tomorrow. The smallest little paper house fits just perfectly, and helps to create a wonderful little piece of Christmas decor.
Our other little craft will be that ornament you see in the tea cups (thank you so much, Jamie Pate, for that staging idea!!!). Just a simple little bottle brush tree with a bit of “snow” and a ribbon.
I’m really looking forward to welcoming my guests tomorrow. I hope they all have a good time!
Thank you so much for taking a look!
I hope I’ve inspired you to add a little SPARKLE to your Letterboard designs!
Merry Merry Christmas! (only 10 more sleeps!)
