Donut You Want One Valentine’s Day Party
I love a good party. I also love a good donut. So when I was thinking of a fun Valentine’s Day party idea, a donut party seemed like a no brainer!
This celebration could be easily made for a surprise for the kids, like I did here, or multiplied for a classroom! Just add more donuts and milk! Here are some of the ways I personalized this party…
I customized my Heidi Swapp Lightbox mixing two different pink insert alphas and added the donut insert for fun!
I added a decorated bamboo skewer to a bowl of donut holes. The skewer has a Pink Paislee Take Me Away Foam Sticker stuck to the top along with some We R Memory Keepers Fringe. The foiled word looks like it took a while to make when all it took was just sticking it to the skewer! So easy to do!
This donut backdrop is the conversation piece to this party!
To make your own, lay wax paper on top of a large piece of foam core. 1. Measure out each donut and pierce the foam core with a skewer in the middle of each donut. 2. Remove the wax paper. Punch or drill holes into the foam core and add the dowels to each spot making sure that there is an even amount of dowel on each side of the foam core to balance the weight (no more than 2-3 inches will be needed for each peg). 3. Prop your backdrop at your party destination with enough weight behind it to hold it in place. 4. Add your donuts!
The more people at your party the more donuts you can have on your backdrop! Or just keep the few there for decoration and have another platter of donuts for the guests to take from.
The kids LOVE it when I bring out the milk glasses. I keep these on hand just for parties and decorate the fronts to match the party theme. The kids always feel special when they have a bit of milk with a fancy straw. The American Crafts straws were decorated with some more fringe in matching colors and I added some bling to the front with embellishments from Pink Paislee’s Take Me Away collection.
Some of the kids love the charms and pretties to take home. However, usually I just collection the glasses after the party and pull off all the embellishments for another project. Ha!
It wouldn’t be a Valentine’s Day party without actual Valentine’s. These fun American Crafts Amy Tangerine Donut Erasers are a perfect addition to the top of a handmade card.
To make these: 1. Print the sentiment out on to Bazzill Basics Kraft Cardstock with a laser printer. 2. Foil them through the Minc Foil Applicator Machine with Teal Minc Foil on heat setting 3. 3. Clear emboss the donut stamp on the paper to make a background pattern. 4. Then mat the cardstock on to fun patterned paper. 5. Add the eraser with adhesive.
My son got a kick out of these and he fell in love with the fun donut erasers! He will remember this Valentine card more than a store bought one with candy on it! To get the free printable head to my blog here!
So, after reading this post “donut” you want one? Happy Valentine’s Day!
