Emerson Lane Accordion Mini Album
It pretty much does not get any prettier than this … new Heidi Swapp Emerson Lane and story telling.
It has to be said: I am very excited to share my first project using Emerson Lane. Photos that were still sitting on my computer from my daughter’s graduation are the feature story here. There is a certain collection of them I wanted to have in their own album. And by combining Paige Evan’s Accordian Mini Album cut file along with Emerson Lane, I knew I had the makings of a very special book.
Let me invite you into this very sweet mini album. As stated above, the album is a cut file from Paige Evan’s Silhouette Designs found at the link here. I thought it would make for a delightful mini book to showcase Emerson Lane and one of many stories on my heart I wanted to document.
The album closes around a larger accordion display of photo and paper and embellishment. I actually added more accordion inserts to this book in particular as there were quite a few photos I felt needed to be displayed.
One of the aspects of this book I really enjoyed is how, although it is accordion, the album opens up and appears to have traditional pages. The pages are embellished with all the Emerson Lane things. This includes photo corners. Washi tape. Ephemera and cardstock stickers.
As I was adhering the pages together, I made sure to make pockets between the papers. I had so many photos of so many amazing people in our life that I wanted to be sure to include them all in one place. By only adding adhesive to three sides I could have a pocket at the top of the pages. I loved how this worked out.
When you need to add all the stories you create even more accordion pages on the pages themselves. The softness of Emerson Lane does not take away from silly photos of brother and sister. In fact, I think Emerson Lane will make for a very versatile collection for a myriad of stories.
The papers are so rich and beautiful, and the photos were colorful too. Because of this, I felt I could go easy on the embellishments. I decided on smallish and simpler touches as I wanted the photos to shine and be the feature of this mini album. Here on this page I stamped with the Emerson Lane Clear Stamps right on the photo. Then a striped heart from the Ephemera pack was popped up to add some detail.
Trust me when I say, you cannot go wrong trusting your stories to this lovely collection like Emerson Lane. This treasury of paper and embellishment is an outstanding assortment of charming things. Our stories, no matter how simple, are important. I was so happy to give these outstanding memories a beautiful home.
It’s just one of those books that puts a smile on my face to open. And isn’t that how all our memories should make us feel? Emerson Lane can’t help but add to that feel too.
So here’s to plenty of photos. Beautiful stories. And gorgeous paper collections to wrap them all up in.
Heidi Swapp Emerson Lane is now available at online and independent paper craft retailers.
