Getting Arty with Art Walk

When I saw the new Art Walk collection I was so excited because I knew exactly what I was going to use it for! Last year on our European vacation we visited the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. It had always been a dream of mine to visit there and see some of the worlds most prestigious pieces of art.

This fun pocket page by media team member, Kim Jeffress, is the perfect way to document your own vacation in a DIY travel album!

When I saw that the Art Walk collection had designs that were evocative of hand painted canvas I knew it would be the perfect collection for my photos. The best thing is the gorgeous Art Walk collection is available at JoAnn stores right now!

I created a 12 x 12 page for my most important photo and then a couple of pocket pages for more photos I took at the museum.

I used this stunning paintily pattern paper from the 12 x 12 Project Pad as may base for my 12 x 12 layout. I began by using the “You are Fabulous” stencil from the Art Walk Pattern and Phrase Stencil Pad and some of the Minc texture paste. Once dry I ran the whole page through my Minc with some of the  Gold  foil.

I then laid down my photo and added some simple embellishments in and around my photo. I layered stickers from the 6×12 Cardboard sticker sheet on top of my photo and added  my title underneath using the Cardstock Alpha Stickers, which I ruffled a little with some sand paper.

I then added in a 6 x 12 pocket page adding in photos to each pocket. I trimmed a piece of pattern paper from the 6×8 Paper Pad to fit into the 3×4 pocket. I added a semi title using the Alpha Chipboard Thickers and for fun added a punched star using the white glitter paper from the Project Pad.

I used more of the paper from the 6×8 Paper Pad, trimmed it to 3×4 and ran it through my typewriter for my journaling. I added some of the fun Thickers from the collection to my post card that I bought at the museum as a memento. I punched holes and will added it into my album.

My final 12 x 12 pocket page contains more photos and 3×4 pockets filled with cards trimmed from the 6×8 Paper Pad. I loved adding the Definition Stickers to my photos and cards, they were the perfect way to evoke a travel theme on my pages.

I tore pieces of that gorgeous pink Washi from the collection to add to some of my pockets. I love the repetition it creates but also brings some pops of color around my layout.

More stickers and thickers from the collection complete this pocket. Using the Definition Stickers and trimming them to fit into a space is such an easy and effective way to embellish a pocket card.

I hope I have inspired you to create your next scrapbook project. I love the Art Walk collection, it is filled with bold colors and designs. It is perfect for your next bold and beautiful memory keeping project. Don’t forget you can find all the products yo need for this project at JoAnn right now!
