Gratitude Found in Journal Studio
It’s that time of year.
When gratitude is the theme.
But then…shouldn’t gratitude be a theme found outside the season as well?
I for one say yes. Yes it should be.
So this is what I did. I took one of the notebook inserts from the new Heidi Swapp edition of Journal Studio. I cut gratitude themed cut files in Heidi’s fabulous hand writing on my digital cut machine. And I am presently creating pages that hold photos and three gratitudes a day.
You can find those cut files as a free download right here:
By the end of the month, I should have near 100 gratitudes held in my journal to remind me of the abundance I do indeed have in my life.
As shown above, I cut the #grateful out of pink cardstock. I made the cut as tall as the page as I wanted big impact. Washi tape that is also part of the Heidi Swapp Journal Studio is wrapped around the cut for a bit of color.
The next page is purely embellished as well. The November calendar card is actually a sticker from the Sticker Book. And I popped up the Ephemera phrase die cut with dimensional tape.
The give thanks was typed on the Typecast Typewriter. And how cute is that cutey little heart from the Puffy Stickers?
The jist of this book includes mini photos and my list of gratitudes.
I printed my photos to just about an inch wide and 2-inches tall. The photos are then adhered to the page with Journal Studio Washi Tape.
The gratitudes I am typing up on the Typecast. As I am going through my day, I will jot down my gratitudes as I engage with something or a thought comes to mind. Writing them down I can then just quick type them up as I create each page.
Abundance was another of the cut files cut as tall as the page. Spray adhesive is a great way to adhere these delicate cuts down on the page.
I made the So Grateful card from the Sticker Book. It is adhered to cardstock and then trimmed out. A little gratitude quote fits perfectly on my ‘card’.
The pattern here is that every other page holds a large cut word. Then the next page holds a large photo cropped to the size of the Journal Studio Insert page.
As shown here with the give cut, a smaller sized word is cut to fit opposite the large format photo.
While I continue to work in this gratitude journal throughout the month, my pages will follow this pattern to the end. I don’t have to recreate the sketch each time. Helps keep this type notebook simple and doable.
This is what is in my book so far. The pages are coming together so easily with the Journal Studio Collection. The cut files are a perfect compliment to this gratitude themed journal. And I know for years to come I will be grateful to have these words + photos found here in my Journal Studio notebook.
