Handmade by Heidi | DIY Pom Pom Headband
Hello friends and welcome back!
Today I want to talk DIY and tools. I know we all have a favourite. There is just something about a fabulous crafting “tool” that we all need in our collection.
Well…today I want to talk about the Handmade by Heidi Pom Poms Kit now available at JoAnn stores and JoAnn online because THIS tool is a must have!
If you follow Heidi’s social media channels and this blog you know that there has been a lot of talk about these makers. Pom poms are classic and there is always a need for a good pom pom every now and again!
This past weekend I was creating some pom poms for a few banners when I had an idea to create a little something for my daughter.
I grabbed some fuzzy pink yarn and used the smallest pom pom maker from the kit. If you have not yet seen these makers in action they are very simple to use. Simply flip out the pom pom maker arms (there are arms on both sides). Wrap with yarn until desired thickness.
Then fold arms back in and using scissors snip down the middle. Once that is complete take a string of yarn tie it through the middle of the pom pom maker and remove your pom! Easy peasy!
Once that is done perfect your pom by trimming off the excess to your desired fluffiness and size.
For my project, I created 3 poms (one each in a different color) and using hot glue, attached them to a nylon headband.
Voila! A custom made pom headband! And SO easy. How adorable for Spring and Easter photos?!
My mind is already swimming with other possible color/style combinations! 😉
I hope you enjoyed this little DIY tutorial and try out this technique for yourself! The pom poms are SO cute!
