happy halloween!

happy halloween!

Bridengroom

So I am a big fan of Halloween.
It’s always a huge stress to get all the costumes together, and somehow juggle all the fall carnivals, parties, trunk or treat events and colton’s birthday into everyday life. that is what this weekend was all about. Friday night cory had a Halloween party… then sat. morning I taught a clock class at scrapbooks etc… eric took quincy to daddy daughter campout over night… and when we all got home, we had to decorate the car, make chili for the cook-off and get all of us in serious  make up and costume, complete with tattoos and fake eye-lashes, which incidentally is my FAVORITE part of Halloween (false eye-lashes). By the time we got to the party, we are all sweating our make up off, and I managed to spill a bunch of chili on the floor of the car- and well- that didn’t exactly add to the party-spirit! (sigh-will I NEVER learn to put a towel under ANY food I transport in the vehicle????????? can you tell this is a sore spot in our marriage?)  well, despite the chaotic beginning, the kids has a great time. and, eric and I did as well. we love the excuse to dress up! that wig of mine has now been through a few costumes! lol. The stress translated in less than fantastic photos, but at least we have some documentation of the effort.  We will have to get dressed up again on Tuesday, so I will need to make more of an effort in the photography department…

Here is a little peek at the clock face that I did as another example of what you can do on the inside of a clock…I have so much fun with these! I have been needing a good excuse to use this cutie basic grey paper. if you need an awesome Christmas gift idea, try a clock! (this is all that would fit on my scanner…)

I have to send a BIG thanks out to my little sister Katie, who is currently in Tokyo with her husband… they went over to represent me at the first every CKU in JapaN! Sounds like everything went great, and she has had a great time touring around with Ali Edwards, Anita Oldham, Rusty Pickle Lance and Tracy White…sounds like I am missing quite an adventure! Thanks Clark and Katie!! You guys are the best!
And while I am sending out thank you’s….i can’t thank you all enough for the sweet comments and emails that I have rec’d in reference to my last blog post. I think it further reinforces the similarities between all of us!
I am looking forward to my Monday morning! I am going to write a week’s worth of to-do’s and goals… and hope for a wildly productive and happy week! Gasp… this week begins NOVEMBER! yikes

Heidi the class was awesome on Saturday! I brought my friend Kelly who had never been and she had a great time so now there will be 4 of us signed up for your November class! When you can please email me the measurements for adding the holes to the clocks for the ribbon! Thought it would be my mother-in-law who was getting the clock but they are pretty easy so I think EVERYONE will be getting one! It was great to see you and Emily and meet your beautiful baby!

Thanks for this post, Heidi. You put my Halloween spirit to shame! Maybe I need to go out and get me some fake eyelashes. That could bump things up in the ‘festive department’ for me! Looking forward to seeing what you do for Christmas this year. Just around the corner {wink}!

Great costumes Heidi! I have spilled Halloween chili and crockpots of soup in the car…not to mention all the big cups of pepsi. Good part is I just ask one of my boys to hook up the carpet cleaning truck and clean it up for me. :o)
It was great seeing you on Saturday at Scrapbooks Etc after your clock class. Thanks for letting me take a picture with you. Loved your pink eyeleashes! I put it on my blog. It was also fun to play with Capri! She is adorable and very happy! //jolenegeorge.blogspot.com/

    Cute family!
I’ve spilled a few crockpots in the car too! My mother-in-law said to put the crock pot in a laundry basket–tuck towels all around it and no problems! Just a random idea for next time :), Amy

OH MY GOSH – I LOVE that clock! I’m just going to have to make one or two! Thanks for sharing that! I’m also a Basic Grey fanatic – LOVE that paper!
I have found that transporting food in a box is the best way to contain spills.
We were also sweating in our costumes this weekend at our fall festival here in Tx. The bumblebee costume had to come off my 19 mo. old and she was glad since she didn’t really like it on her to begin with. My 5 yr old’s Dora costume was great for the weather although her wig came off after a while!
Thanks, again for sharing that clock. I am totally inspired to do one, now!

isn’t spilling in the car a sore spot in every marriage???? I can’t seem to learn that lesson either…also rolling down the windows after the car gets washed! hee hee!!!
great costumes!! Halloween not my favorite day. Just so stressful. My husband calls me the fun sucker…ENEMY OF FUN is my official title during halloween. so glad to see everyone else enjoying this day. really glad it is not me! maybe if i put the fake eyelashes on it would change my whole attitude?? hmmm….

I too, have done the dump food from a crock pot into the floor boards! Mine was broccoli cheese soup and into the floor boards, the ventilation system and the console of my van! Not pretty, then again thats what car washes and vacuums were made for 😉 I REALLY love the clock idea too! Where can I get directions for this?! Thank you for all your great ideas, tips and sharing! um… did I not get the memo that fake eyelashes are only for halloweenn? I love a little 3 strand on the corner of each for pics or special occassions. Not too flashy but nice. Love the costumes. This year was the first ever that my husband dressed up with us. he is big bad wolf and I was little red. Now that we have 4 kids(BB is one month younger than capri) I thought next year we should go as mommy and daddy rabbit and all our kids as rabbits. lol. Great photos Heidi!

Hi Heidi, can I just say that I love all your products, keep them comming. But can I also say that sometimes I have been less than impressed with the quality, and even less than impressed with the customer service I recieved when I complained at your web site. But I guess thats how big companies make their money, by short changing the little person

Great Halloween costumes–who’s the scary big guy in the back? A CKU in Japan? How come I didn’t know about that? I spent 5 years in Japan and took 2yrs of Japanese at ASU before moving there. We were trying to adopt a Japanese girl, but I ended up birthing my 3rd son over there instead. My SIL is Japanese and my 2 nephews and 2 nieces are half-Jpn and sooo cute. Thanks for sharing.
