Hawthorne Collection Layout
I love this time of year when Heidi releases her new collections for the year. This year as always she doesn’t disappoint with the stunningly beautiful new Hawthorne collection. To me it is an eclectic mix of feminine florals and grungy out doorsy patterns. Perfect for both some girly layouts for me and alternatively perfect for layouts and projects of my boys!
In the collection there is an added bonus of some fun new Minc pieces that can be foiled with any Minc foil collar and teamed with other pieces in the collection. Today I am going to share a brand new layout then a quick step by step on using the Minc-able Ephemera pieces!
I started with the the fun Eden pattern paper with the pink spots as my base. I then trimmed my most favorite pattern paper the Hayden pattern paper to go over the base pattern.
I then added my journaling to the pattern paper using my We R Memory Keepers typecast type writer.
Next I used a variety of circle punches to cut circles from various pattern papers from the collection. I wanted to add a touch masculine to my layout so I used the stunning Etheral pattern paper which on the B side has that knockout dark woodgrain pattern. I love the contrast that it brings to the layout.
I then added some of the Minc Ephemera pieces in and around the circles. I added some of them with pop dots to add some extra dimension and shadow.
Another fun addition to the Hawthorne collection is the Clear Phrases stamps. They can be mix and matched to create your own phrases. Here I stamped them with some brown ink on one of my punched circles!
Now let me share with you how easy it is to foil with the new Minc Ephemera.
Take out some of your pieces and take note of which ones are paper and which are clear ***This is important*** You will notice that the Ephemera pack also comes with an insert that shows all the pieces in the pack that can be foiled. Be sure to keep that insert with your remaining Ephemera pieces so you know what pieces can and can not be foiled. The packet comes with 66 pieces of Ephemera but not all of them can be foiled.
The important thing to remember about sending the pieces through the Minc is that for best results the paper pieces can be sent through on a 3 setting and the Clear acrylic pieces sent through on a 1 setting! Do the clear pieces first and then change the heat to 3 to do the paper. It is fast to heat the machine up, then to cool it down.
I decided to foil my pieces with the gorgeous Champagne foil. It brings a richness and elegance to the pieces of Ephemera!
Don’t they look divine! I adore how not all parts of the pieces take on the foil, therefore leaving some of the gorgeous pattern and fonts as originally created.
I am totally in love with this gorgeous new collection. I can wait for you to start playing and creating with it as well!
