How To Combine Love and Minc Foil
All the heart eyes for Valentines and Minc Foil
For some reason when I think Valentines and crafting my mind automatically goes to the Minc Machine and Foil.
With Valentines around the corner I had a hankering for making some DIY Valentines. For this little project I grabbed some pattern paper from Care Free, Heidi Swapp Minc Texture Paste, a heart stencil, vellum, and Rose Gold Foil. Oh…and the Minc Machine too.
First I applied the Clear Texture Paste through the stencil onto a sheet of vellum. Allowing this to dry very well, I then ran the vellum with texture paste hearts through the Minc Machine.
Tah dah! It’s always a tah dah moment when one pulls up the foil from the surface to reveal beautiful foiled accents. This little technique works with many mediums like paper and cardstock, acetate as well as even thin chipboard.
Then I trimmed down the vellum to create a tag shaped insert for the Valentine part of the project.
This will now slip into a 3×4 inch pocket that has a heart shape on the front. I just used a larger heart stencil I had here on my work space. I traced the heart then cut it out with a craft knife. Having made a cardstock pocket I then adhered the heart front to the pocket back.
This Love You stamp was, of course, the perfect sentiment. It was stamped on white cardstock and then notched to a v at the end. Plus a few swipes of ink lended it a bit of a shabby chic sort of vibe.
I made several of these up and added stickers from the Care Free Project Pad. Plus a few Definition Stickers created a bit more interest as well as additional sentiment to the front of these Valentines.
Behind the vellum tag I added an additional piece of pattern paper so that a note could be written to the recipient. This would make a great craft to make for any time of year, just change up the open shape on the front.
Hope this inspires the making to combine your love and Minc Foil to share a Valentine Day sentiment with another friend.
