How to Create a DIY December Countdown Album

Hello friends and happiest Friday.

Here we are wrapping up another week with some creativity.  One of my most favourite things!

So let’s go!

I am so excited to be up sharing how I transformed my Heidi Swapp Winter Wonderland Album.

I love how this album is literally a blank canvas that can be stitched, sewn, stamped, painted…the customization options are endless.  You are able to take this album and make it completely reflective of your holiday memories and traditions.  How beautiful is that!

For my album I chose to customize my cover with vinyl and this fabulous freebie!

Free Christmas Heidi Swapp Cutting and Line Art Files

Be sure to get your hands on it because they are amazing in all the ways.

OK, so as you can see this fabulous cloth album comes blank.

I am going to add the “Merry Christmas” freebie download to my album cover using black vinyl.

After cutting out the digital file on my electronic cutting machine I applied transfer tape so that I can easily apply it to the albums cover.

I then placed the vinyl image atop my album and removed the transfer tape.  I was so impressed by how flawlessly the vinyl adhered to the album cover.  Literally smooth like butter and perfect coverage.  I highly recommend!

Of course I could not stop there.

I grabbed this Winter Wonderland Clear Stamp Set and added a few small details onto my cover using black archival ink.  They stamp so easily onto the cover.  The detail is wonderful.

I then used these gorgeous Winter Wonderland Alphabet Thickers to add the year 2019.

I then finished up my album cover with some layered Winter Wonderland Washi and a card stock ’25’ sticker from this set.  I had stamped on another place on my album cover but it didn’t really appeal to me so I just covered it up with the layered washi and I really love how it turned out!  So never fear….plan B’s often work out better ;).

Inside the album you will find a book that will capture your 25 days perfectly.  It has a vellum cover and then white blank pages which make the perfect canvas.  For my album I am taking favourite papers from the Winter Wonderland 12×12 paper pad and trimming them down to approx 7 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches.  I am going to repeat this for the entire album and have 1 page = 1 day of December.

I will be working on prepping my entire album this weekend so that it will be ready to go come December 1st and will be sharing my album throughout the month of December on my instagram account. The countdown is ON!

Happiest weekend and be sure to get your hands on this album to create your own December keepsake.  You will be so happy you did.
