How to Create a Weekly Spread in a Travel Journal

Happiest Friday friends!

Today I am up to share a fun look and tutorial into how I use some of my most favourite Heidi Swapp Journal Studio products to create my weekly journal spreads.

I thought this would be the perfect weekend inspiration to “set the stage” to share some ideas on how to take a blank journal and transform it into a working space.   You can find everything that I am sharing today at JOANN stores and JOANN online so you will be able to get started on your own notebooks in no time at all. 🙂

For my September journal I am using this set of Journal Studio notebooks.  In one package you get a set of 2 notebooks.  This particular set comes with one dot grid notebook and one grid notebook.

Along with my notebooks, I want to share 2 of my favourite Journal Studio We R Memory Keepers tools that I will also be using to create my weekly spread.

The We R Memory Keepers All In One Journal Tool and the We R Journal Studio Alphabet Magnetic Stencils

Watch my video tutorial to see how I transform a completely blank notebook into a functional space for my upcoming week!

Isn’t it amazing at how quickly and easily these tools are at bringing life to a blank notebook?  I adore the alphabet stencils for titles, monograms, headings… the list goes on.  Having the magnetic matting on the back, along with the alignment ruler ensures that placement is accurate and secure.

You may have noticed in my video that I created a fun “offset shadow” effect to my days of the week.  By simply sliding my magnetic alpha slightly off to the side I was able to create a “3D shadow” and then using a black felt tip pen I coloured them in.

Of all the many uses of the Journal Guide….I love having one tool that I can use to create my text boxes, add in my bullet points, round corners, create pennants, banners, add in journaling lines… the list goes on and on.

Once my framework was complete I added in extra Heidi Swapp Journal Studio elements from the sticker book and a few puffy stickers for good measure.

I love keeping and creating journals that are both functional AND beautiful…and Journal Studio is a collection that allows you to achieve that so easily!  With so many beautiful products it is hard to resist taking our ‘everyday tasks’ and NOT wanting to make them look pretty!  It really is SO much fun to glamorize “to-do’s” don’t you think?

Be sure to find all of these fabulous Journal Studio products (and more) right now at JOANN and JOANN online!
