How To Find Inspiration (then make a layout)
Such a fun way to make a layout
Just made this layout in literally no time at all.
Ya wanna know why?
Well today I am gonna tell you. But first. Let’s gather a few things.
This layout is brought to by one of my most favorite foundations to start with: The Storyline Chapters Insert. I will be adding this layout to my daughters 2021-22 Senior Year Album.
Then. Of course. There are some elements from Storyline Chapters. Like the sticker book from which I will use alpha stickers to create a title.
Next, I need pattern paper for the DIY embellishments.
Finally, not showing, the Project Pad for a last sticker embellishment.
Then…there is this!
This is a t shirt that belongs to another of my daughters. She was wearing it the other day and I just kept looking at it. My brain went to a scrapbook page layout. Then today, as I was gathering photos and supplies for the next story I wanted to tell in my daughter’s senior book, I sketched a layout that was inspired by the graphic design on this shirt.
It was that easy.
Now. The final layout is not exactly like the t shirt design. And that’s OK. Do you know why it’s OK? Because there are still sketch ideas to gather from the back of that shirt. It was merely a jumping off point for getting this layout started.
Then, not only that…this layout came together so very quickly. The alpha stickers were added to the top to simply say Senior. The butterflies were die cut from Storyline chapters pattern paper and scattered on that right side space. I typed out the journaling and printed that on more pattern paper. Then a phrase sticker was popped up and separated the page a bit. A clear sticker from the Project pad added at the very last. Then you know what I did? I called it good! And one more story is added to this Storyline Chapters album.
I hope this inspires you to look around. What do you find yourself gravitating to? Can you translate that to a layout sketch? Or at least a jumping off inspirational point? I bet you can.
So now. It’s your turn. Take your inspiration and tell your story.
